"Few states can boast such a varied landscape as Oregon. Beginning with the distinctively rugged Pacific coast, passing over rich valleys to glaciered volcanic peaks and on to rolling expanses of high desert plains cut by deep river canyons and spiked with errant mountain ranges, the land is epic in its breath and drama" Bill McRae
Update March 2002
It's 2002 now and "Travels in Oregon" has been online almost 5 years now. I just finished going through all the 300 or so links on this page, deleting those that are closed and adding many new links. I'm glad to see over 112,000 people have come by this site in the past years and hope you will continue to find useful Oregon information here. We lived in southern Oregon (Ashland and Jacksonville) from 1990 to 1999 and took monthly trips to the wonderful Oregon coast. Although the coast is my favorite part of Oregon there is much else in the state that is well worth seeing.
Additional photographs of Oregon were added to this page in 2001, and here they are below. They show: Joe blowing into a conch shell atop Cape Pertetua on a day with dramatic lighting; the painted hills area of central Oregon; Bridget along the Oregon coast trail; Bridget at Cape Blanco on a typical windy day with one of our dachshunds and a small stream emptying out onto an Oregon beach. Btw there are a lot of large photographs on this page so if not all load properly hit the refresh/reload button on your computer to view them all!

Please come by and see our new all dachsie web page entitled "Adventures with Dachshunds". You'll see photos of German dachshunds we met this year on our trip to the "motherland" as well as the latest Wotan & co. adventures. See them attack balloons and boxes. Marvel at Gaudi's jazz singing. Come see Wotan with a yogurt container stuck on his head...that's a sight that will certain amaze and dazzle you! All this and so much more! Be sure to have your speakers turned on for the whole experience.
Adventures with Dachshunds
Stop by to see my web page with over 20 large photographs and detailed text covering part of our almost month long trip to Europe in May of 2001. Come see it at Germany and Belgium 2001
I have recreated some of my pages that were on NBCi and put them back online on AOL. Come and check them out!
Photographs from many of my/our trips to Europe are shown at this web page: Europe Travel Photos
It's NOT about dachshunds....it's an inspiring page of poems about nature. You can find it at Well Known Nature Poems
Stop by and see 21st Century Dachshunds View a number of action photographs of our dachshunds in very large rabbit burrows. Also see 3 doxies face off in a challenge against 3 swans as well as other humorous photos.
See dachshunds licking horses, sleeping on plants, protecting humans from ferry boats and more at 10 Funny Dachshund Photos
Also take a look at the first web page I did all on one theme and that tells a little story. I think the captions I came up with for this one are more creative too. Come by and see it at: Wiener Dog Takes the Money and Runs
Wiener dogs stare down Great Danes, get stuck in logs and blender jars, rips apart enormous carpets, swim in large ponds, hike on the edges of cliffs, help sift compost, and eat lots of pig ears. All that and more can be seen in action photographs at the new page Dashing Dachshunds.
Come by and see my very first HTML code "hand-made" web page and the subject is...dachshunds of course! This was my first page with animated graphics, and is also my first dachshund page with lots of text...stories of some of the funny antics our three dachshunds have been involved in. You can also see many photos of Gaudi, our adopted doxie, as well as more of Wotan and Shakti. It's all here at:Dachshund Stories and Photos
Stop by and see another recently added dachshund web page. See dachshunds in cages on ferry boats, doxies stuck in the slats of chairs sleeping comfortably, and dachshunds "going wormakin". Come see it all at Wonder Wiener Dogs of Washington.
Come by and see a page dedicated to the greatest dachshund in the world! Yes, it's All Wotan, All the Time
Here are links to my other web pages
Hope you found useful information on Oregon travel on this site and that you enjoy your time in the beautiful state of Oregon.
