Emile Berliner, the man who invented the flat-disc "gramophone" and created the "Victor Talking Machine" became interested in vertical flight. He and his son Henry built this helicopter, and demonstrated it to the Navy at College Park Airport. Only one was built. It flew successfully 15 feet above ground and at 40 miles per hour, but this was the only one of its kind ever built.
