Elegba Eshu (Exu)


Elegba Eshu, is the Yoruba Orisha (Neteru, Angelic Force) of Possibility. He is the messenger between God and Man. The Divine Trickster in non-discriminating in punishing or rewarding human beings on earth. He stands here on the crossroads opening and closing the doors to all possibilities, with His staff.

Ajagun (The Warriors)


Ajagun is comprised of Elegba, Ogun, Ochossi and Osun. These Orishas protect their devotees from destruction and opposing spiritual forces. Here we see the Ajagun conquering an obstacle.

Xango of Palmeres


Xango is the Yoruba Orisha of Fire and Thunder. This painting is a tribute to the legendary Palmeres, where the Africans and Caboclos (Indigenous-commonly called Indians) of Brazil fought together, against the harshness of slavery to build a community, called quilombos. Xango (Shango) was one of the Orisha who is believed travelled on the slave ships in assisting in making this community so strong and legendary.
