Why am I a member of Texas Judo?
There are some obvious answers:
1) Texas Judo is the state governing body for the sport in Texas,
2) I am also a member of the national governing body, USA Judo,
3) I am covered by the sports accident insurance,
4) I can participate in any domestic Judo tournament across the country provided I meet the age and rank requirements,
5) If I win the state senior, junior, high school, or college championships, I'll receive funds to travel to the national championships,
6) I can be promoted in rank that is recognized throughout the world,
7) I can participate in clinics conducted by national and international champion athletes and coaches,
8) I'll receive the Texas Judo weekly email newsletter,
9) I'll receive the quarterly Texas Judo News magazine, and
10) I'll have an opportunity to be recognized as a Texas All Star.
And, there are some not-so-obvious answers:
1) My dues are used to promote the sport of Judo and provide travel funds for athletes,
2) I can be certified as a coach,
3) I can be certified as a referee,
4) I can be certified as a technical official,
5) I can become a Life Member of Texas Judo and USA Judo,
6) I can participate in the Health &Wealth Program,
7) I can serve on or chair committees,
8) I can serve as an officer,
9) I will receive a membership card,
10) My accomplishments will be listed on the Texas Judo website.
Why is my club a member of Texas Judo?
1) My club is covered by liability insurance.
2) My club can host sanctioned events, even state championships
3) My club members can participate in the All Star program
4) My club members can receive travel funds
5) My club can have a vote on the Board of Directors
6) My club can receive national recognition based on membership
7) My club can promote member in rank
8) My club will receive a membership certificate
9) My club will be listed on the Texas Judo website
10) My club can generate funds thru the Texas Health & Wealth Program
