Bus Explodes, Takes
Out Local Bus Stop: Sad news to announce, but well
as you can see this site has not been getting near the
attention it deserves from me. So I have decided it
would be best to put the site on indefinite hiatus.
Maybe one day I'll be able to run it again, but that
would only be for the fact that I could post an image of
the 'Hiatus is Over' poster. My thanks to everyone who helped out in
anyway with this site and everyone who bothered to send
in news. And on to the last update ....
Video For The Scrappy:
The folks at Grand Royal were kind enough to post a
video for BS2000's 'The Scrappy'. Go
check it out. A review of the US tour opener can be
found here.
Also check
this out, tickets are probably long gone .. but just
so you know.
Also, Mike D's rare post to the Beastie Boys message
board can be found here.
That's it for me.

Another Update, In A
Timely Manner, I Must Be Insane: Well
I really don't wanna post this one, cause it could diminish
my chances of winning ... but well I figure I won't
win anyway. So ... click
here to enter to win the ultra rare Beastie Boys
Action Figures (Dolls??) from Grand Royal. Ok that's
all.
Oh and incase you are wondering,
The
Need will be opening up for BS2000 on the US dates.
3.11.01 - 10:43 PM ET
FINALLY AN UPDATE: Well
I decided that it being almost a month since my last
update I would actually post something new! I've only
gotten two posts, I'm sure other important things have
happened but me being the busy person I am decided to
"forget" that they happened. Sorry ... Oh
on thing that I want to know, did all those kids at
the Beastie's message board stop crying that it got
moved yet. I swear the fan base is like 8 years old
now ... sad times.
Scapegoat Wax, a fashion
mistake? Not anymore thanks to Fashion Catastrophy!
What does this have to do with the Beastie Boys other
than the Grand Royal connection you ask? Well if you
head over to this link: http://www.grandroyal.com/scapegoatwax
you can watch a video in which an appearance by Grand
Royal CEO Mike D. can be seen.
BS2000 Tickets: Tickets for pretty much every show
have come and gone on presale so if you didn't get them
well I don't know when the street date is so you'll
have to cal your local venue or look it up somewhere.
I'll be at the Bowery Ballroom on April 12th personally.
2.17.01 - 2:37
PM ET
TFC Confirmed: While
this is not unexpected, it will be somewhere in the
UK this year. take your choice of articles below to
read and re-read the same info over and over again.
No acts confirmed and no location confirmed, but its
looks like there is the possibility of more than one
show this summer, maybe one in Japan. I won't venture
to make any guesses as to where else they are going.
Funny how both NME and Dot music can exclusivly give
out this info.

Mike D. Producing Bhagavan
Das: Mike D.
is keeping very busy currently, between promoting ATDI
and Grand Royal and producing other artists work. Money
Mark is also working on the album and Mike has played
some drums for it as well as producing. Interesting
to see how this turns out.
2.08.01 - 8:25 PM ET
TFC Blurb: While
this is a far cry from any kind of official annoucement
..meaning regard this as rumor and nothing more, Allstar
mag had this to say about TFC 2001: "a source has
indicated that tentative, although unconfirmed, dates
of June 23-24 are being batted around for an undisclosed
U.K. location. No acts have been confirmed for the bill,
but logic would dictate the Beastie Boys are likely
candidates."
Mixmaster Mike Scores
Hip-Hop Film: Here
is a cut and paste. Im too lazy to type. Props: Jamie
*** Beastie Boy scores hip-hop film
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Beastie Boys DJ and former Invisible
Skratch Piklz principal Mixmaster Mike will score the
film version of writer/actor Danny Hoch's acclaimed
stage show, "Jails, Hospitals and Hip-Hop." The film
cuts between narratives filmed on location to clips
from Hoch's live performances, including some that were
performed in front of an audience of prison inmates
and corrections officers. Hoch says the influence of
hip-hop loomed large, even in the editing room. "The
film provides a musical and visual dynamic that helps
us deliver this to a wider audience, specifically a
younger audience," he says. "We had to ask ourselves,
'What is dictating the pace, sentiment and feeling of
this film?' and the answer was grown-up hip-hop culture."
"Jails" premieres in New York on March 30 and will likely
hit additional markets in the coming months. (Infobeat-newsletter)

Shockwave Video: This is something I meat to post
about what seems like months ago. It came in my inbox
while I was away and I totally forgot about it. So here

be less frequent I think for the coming months .. but
I'll still be here ... and on to the news ...

In Spin: The Beasties are in this months issue of
spin magazine. 1st they are in it for the photo gallery

Mike D Produces Bran
Van 3000: According to Sonicnet Mike D produced
half of Bran Van 3000's 16 (That makes 8 for the mathmatically
defunct. is that the right word? Who cares Ilike it.)
tracks off their forthcoming LP, which will also have
guest spots by Curtis Mayfield as well as some others
I'm to lazy to type about. due out on Grand Royal records
sometime this spring/summer .. I think.
BBC Radio 1 Mike D Interview
(again): This is not that Ill Communication thing
..its another interview you can listen to real audio
(OG broadcast was on Feb 2).. Mike says things about
new Beastie material
(not that its coming out .. just that everyone makes
some stuffin their free time I guess .. my guess is
any new material is far off .. so don't go spreadin
rumors that a new LP is coming this summer .. cause
until there is a new LP .. there isn't one, i'm tired
and irritable leave me alone.), he talks about other
things such as Eminem <sarcasm>and how they are
doing an album together cause of how they think that
they can both sport the same look and that would make
a good tag team rap act.</sarcasm> Props: xdiggetyx

GR Is
Giving Away the DVD: The people at Grand Royal have
gone crazy ... errr. Anyhow they are running a contest
where they are giving away the Anthology DVD. The crazy
part is that you can enter as often as you want (although
they promise that this will not neccessarily increase
your chances of winning). Also a pair of German tourists
(one of whom you many of you will confuse with Mike
D., but I think its just a rumor) were given some lessons
on the MPC 2000 by Kut Masta Kurt, which I think you
should check out.
1.19.01 - 7:55 PM ET
Slight
Changes: Incase you haven't noticed the site has
undergone a few minor changes as well as migrating over
to Dreamweaver instead of Front Page. I may be redoing
the graphics a touch also soon. If anyone has any problems
with the layout in their respective browsers please
let me know. adrock311@aol.com
1.19.01 - 5:50 PM ET
Beastie
Boys Anthology Book?: There is a listing at Barnesandnoble.com
and at Amazon.com
for The Sounds
of Science: The Beastie Boys Anthology with CD (Audio)
which is scheduled for release in April 2001. It's
listed as Hardcover, 88 pages with a CD included. My
only guess is that it will be the same book that came
with the vinyl version of the anthology available with
out the records. But it could be totally different who
knows. If anyone has some information on this please
share. Props: dj DOUBLE H

Rolling Stone BS2000
Article: There is an article at Rollingstone.com
about the new BS2000 album due out this February. Click
below to read if you are so inclined.
1.11.01 - 5:14 PM ET
100 Greatest Albums
of Rock And Roll: According to VH1, the Beastie
Boys' Paul's Boutique is the 74th greatest Album
of Rock and Roll, taking a back seat to Public Enemy's
It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, and
anything the Beatles ever released to name a few of
the 73 which are greater. You can learn why PB is number
74 Monday January 15th at 10PM ET. Until then you could
read about the show.
1.10.01 - 6:13 PM ET
The Update: The
interview is with Mike D. and Mario C., the clip is
about 1/2 hours long. A good listen. It will remind
you how much you like Ill Communication, basketball,
and karaoke mic's.. (Might have just been my computer,
but Real Player 7 kept choking on the clip, Real Player
8 on the other hand worked just fine.)
BBC Radio 1 - Ill Communication
Documentary: You can click the link below to begin
listening (Real Player Req.) I can't really give you
anymore details right now because the file kept causing
my Real Player to crash and now the site seems to be
down. Hope you have better luck than me.
1.05.01 - 5:02 PM ET
At The Drive-In Commercial
(Starring Mike D.): Special thanks to the people
over at Grand Royal for hookin' the Bus Stop up with
the At The Drive-In Commercial featuring Michael Diamond
(President/CEO Grand Royal Incorporated). The purpose
of the commercial, to expose more people to the band
At The Drive-In, I'm sure you already figured that out,
cause your smart.
Remember you saw it here
first unless you saw it somewhere else.
1.04.01 - 8:23 PM ET
Yoga Album: Really
didnt know what to put as the headline for this one,
but there is an article at
rapstation.com about the Skratch Piklz which had
this to say about Mixmaster Mike's current status:
"So while Q-Bert is
hanging out in Cannes at the Sundance film festival,
his partner Mixmaster Mike is also making moves.
I talk to Mike the other day as he was gearing up to
perform at the half time show for the Golden State
Warriors. Yep, you read it correctly, Mix Master
Mike was gonna be wrecking the turntables and keeping
the crowd happy. I guess the NBA now realizes that Hip-Hop
is a draw and can be quite entertaining for the fans.
Mike noted that if everything went well he might be
doing the half time shows on a more regular basis… Mike
also noted that things are going really well with him
and The Beastie Boys whom he also DJs for..
In fact him and Adrock are in the process of
putting together a Yoga album and a mixtape album.
Mike was enthusiastic about his recent trip to India
where he fell in love with some of the music. He intends
to reflect that in his upcoming projects.. Damn Hip
Hop and Yoga.. Hip Hop has definitely come a long ways…
Mike also spoke on the
ISP break up. He noted that there is no funk between
any of the members. They are simply doing as they promised
which is to pursue some of their solo projects and grow.
Eventually they will all regroup… Most likely under
another name. We’ll keep you posted on the haps.."
Ok so a Hip Hop Yoga album
and a mixtape album possibly on the horizon as another
side project for Adrock. He sure does keep busy. Props:
