The Ahlnilam observatory was created for the pleasures of viewing and imaging the night sky. The images presented in the galleries below were taken at the observatory, my front lawn . All images were taken with an 8 inch Schmidt Cassagrain telescope and a charge coupled device camera. Please click on the gallery buttons below to enter a Gallery. Thumbnail images are presented in each gallery. By clicking on the thumbnail image a larger image will be displayed.

The images presented in this gallery were all taken from my front porch. They are of a nebulous nature, and although not strictly astronomical, they exert great influence over visual and photographic astronomy.
Thank you for visiting the Ahlnilam Observatory. If you are ever in Short Pump, Virginia and would like to visit the observatory please give me a call. I'm in the phone book. If it is clear on the night of your visit, I'm almost certain that there will be a star party and you will be the guest of honor!
