Part II-A33: The staged assassination changed the result of Taiwan Presidential election 2004

According to Singapore's STRAITS TIMES (July 8, 2004), Taiwanese security officials had prior knowledge that President Chen Shui-Bian's supporters would stage an election eve shooting in a bid to swing the vote in his favor, a report by the government watchdog said yesterday. The Control Yuan, which oversees conduct of government officials, on Tuesday also impeached eight top security officials who were involved in this event.

Taiwanese officials 'ignored warning of Chen shooting'

TAIPEI - Taiwanese security officials had prior knowledge that President Chen Shui-Bian's supporters would stage an election eve shooting in a bid to swing the vote in his favor, a report by the government watchdog said yesterday.

The Control Yuan, which oversees conduct of government officials, on Tuesday also impeached eight top security officials for negligence and failure to protect the island's leaders in the light of the March 19 shooting which injured Mr. Chen.

The officials included former National Security Bureau (NSB) chief Tsai Chao-ming, former deputy chief of the NSB special service center Chiu Chung-nan and the president's former chief aide-de-camp, Lieutenant-General Chen Tsa-fu, local media reported.

Mr. Chen set up an independent committee chaired by Control Yuan head Frederick Chien on Tuesday to investigate the case.

According to the report, an NSB agent had earlier alerted the authorities to a 'gangster's' plan to shoot the President so as to discredit the opposition and help Mr. Chen win the March 20 presidential election.

'The suspected gangster, in his 30s or 40s, has vowed many times that he would not rule out the possibilities to fire at former president Lee Teng-hui and President Chen without endangering their lives and blame the opposition for the shootings,' said bureau agent Tang Jung-min, who got wind of the plan on March 18, just hours before the attack the next day, according to ET Today.

'The man intended to shore up support for Mr. Chen, who seemed to be trailing behind opposition candidate Lien Chan,' Mr. Tang said in the report.

Mr. Tang had marked the information as 'totally reliable', and believed the planned attack was related to heavy betting in the southern city of Tainan, involving NT$200 million (S$10 million), on the election result.

The agent also informed police of the scheme, but received no response, while his superior Lai Cheng-yi demanded further checks on the intelligence which he considered 'lacking in details', according to the report.

Mr. Chen, of the Democratic Progressive Party, eventually won re-election, beating his challenger Lien Chan by a mere 0.22 per cent margin.

The outcome immediately sparked mass demonstrations from opposition supporters alleging foul play. -- AFP

However,  evidence prove that Chen Shui-Bian was obviously cooperated with the staged assassination.  Why?  Evidence prove that Chen was not shot during the rally as Vice President Lu but a shot was made on him after he entered the Chi-Mei hospital (hospital owner is a DPP member).  So, before Chen Shui-Bian step down, the staged assassination case can not be really solved.  The reason is just like watergate scandal case.  Before Nixon stepped down, he would try his best to stop the case being solved.   Now, it is the same thing in Taiwan.  After the assassination happened three months, Taiwan Criminal investigation bureau even does not know who is the suspects.

Let's examine what really happened in this 319 (March 19, 2004) shooting which occurred on the day before Taiwan's Presidential election.

Summary of Key Points: On 3/19/2004, Taiwan’s President Chen Shui-Bian and Vice President Annette Lu was traveling through Tainan city (Chen's hometown) rallying for their supporters to vote on the next day.  Both of them were standing and waving to the crowd as their open-top jeep made it way through a street flanked on both sides by their supporters. Along the way, their supporters were celebrating this visit by setting-off firecrackers and hoping they would be able to win despite trailing in the polls.   According to news report, gun shot were fired during the rally.  A shot penetrated the jeep’s windshield and struck Lu’s knee.  Then, they were taken to hospital.  Later, Chi-Mei hospital announced that President Chen was also shot.

However, there are eight key findings that prove President Chen was not shot during his campaign rally in Tainan city.   His wound was level.  But, it could not have been caused by a gunshot fired at him while he was standing on a moving open-top jeep.  The Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) forensic analysis did not find any gunpowder residue on Chen’s clothing/jacket. However, if Chen was really shot during the rally, his jacket must have gun powder residue and caused  by firecracker everywhere. This finding on jacket prove that Chen Shui-Bian was not shot from the rally. They did find that the large stain on his clothing (initially thought to be blood stains) were caused by a petroleum-based ointment. These findings also show that Chen was not shot in car during the rally to lose a lot of blood.  So, it shows that Chen was shot under controlling circumstance and would have received medical care soon after being shot.

Additionally, Chi Mei Hospital’s handling of this case violated standard procedures.  Chi-Mei doctors did not take blood samples from Chen and Vice President Annette Lu before treatment.  Nor did the doctors preserved the cotton swaps and bandages used to treat Chen and Lu.  Hence, it is impossible to determine if Chen had been previously tranquilized before being treated at Chi-Mei.  Chi Mei Hospital also kept it a secret that Chen only suffered minor injury.  Yet, Chi-Mei Hospital released Chen's x-ray photo to Taiwan TV Networks (that night).  The photo showed that the bullet was lodged in Chen’s spinal cord region.  This was not the truth and obviously misled the voters to believe Chen was severely injured.  These maneuvers were obviously a ploy to win over sympathy votes for Chen.

All the findings leads to the same conclusion that Chen’s shooting was staged and he was actually shot after entering the Chi Mei Hospital.  He had conspired to fake his injury, and Chi Mei hospital helped with the cover-up.  An independent commission should be set up to investigate this matter.  Chen and the security agents on the jeep with him should all undergo polygraph tests.

The following eight evidences prove that Chen was not wounded during the rally as original claim but was wounded after he entered Chi-Mei hospital.

I. First Key Findings: Based on forensic evidences provided by Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau, the locations of the bullet holes on Chen’s jacket, dress shirt and under-shirt do not match up and do not line up with Chen's wound.

Chen's wound and the bullet hole on his overcoat/jacket show that Chen was only shot once.  However, what would cause the locations of bullet holes on his clothing's (jacket, dress-shirt and underwear) to be different and cannot line up?

The fact proves that these bullet holes of his clothes and his wound was not caused by a single shot during the rally.  It means that Chen was not wounded during the rally but shot elsewhere under controlled circumstance (several shots were used and that caused the inconsistency).  Why?

According to Taiwan's Newspaper, Apple Daily (June 3, 2004), Dr. Chu, Hong-Yuan have published a book that title, The President Got Shot.  In it, Chu charged Chen's shooting to be 100% staged.   Dr. Chu is a member of Taiwan Academia Sinica [equivalent to US National Academy of Science], Professor of Political Science at Taiwan National University, and a Doctor of Law degree from Taiwan National University,  He had also been commissioned by Taiwan Government to investigate a famous Taiwan subversion case.  Dr. Chu's book is based on a detailed review of the evidences,  interviews with many witnesses at the crime scene of 319 shooting, and consultation with Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau officials and Taiwan military's ballistic experts.

After reviewing forensic evidences collected by Criminal Investigation Bureau, Dr. Chu found the locations of bullet holes on Chen's jacket, dress shirt, and under-shirt do not match up and do not line up with Chen's wound.  Chu consulted surgeons and Taiwan military's ballistic expert on this inconsistency.  He came to the conclusion that Chen's wound and the bullet holes on his clothes should be caused by three gun shots.  One shot was made with Chen lying on his back with his lower abdomen exposed.  A second shot was made to create the bullet holes on his dress shirt and under-shirt.  A third shot was made  to create the holes on the jacket.  Chu speculated that the injured Chen put these clothes back on.  This is also why he switched clothing between that morning and the afternoon.

This fact prove that Chen was not shot during the rally.  Otherwise, no matter what the bullet's trajectory was, the bullet holes on his clothes (jacket, dress-shirt, under-shirt) must line up. Especially since Chen's overcoat/jacket only had a bullet hole and Chen suffered a straight-level grazing wound. The bullet should have a single ballistic trajectory and penetrate Chen's jacket, dress shirt, and underwear on the same trajectory without zigzagging,  So, they must line up.  However, evidence prove that the locations of bullet holes on Chen's jacket, dress shirt, under-shirt do not match up and do not line up with Chen's wound.  This proves that Chen was not wounded from the rally but was shot elsewhere under controlled circumstance.

Although I agree with Dr. Chu's conclusion that Chen was shot after he laid down and Chen's shooting was 100% staged, but some of Chu's deductions are wrong on how the shooting was carried out.  Using the evidences documented in his book and forensic analysis of the bullet which grazed Chen (Dr. Henry Lee found fibers from Chen's jacket on the bullet) , I have drawn a different deduction on how the shooting was done.

I differ with him on his three shots theory.  Based on forensic evidences, the bullet that injured Chen contained fibers from his jacket.  I believe Chen was only wearing his jacket and laid down when he was shot.  So, it doesn't need 3 shots. Since Chen was laying down, the jacket would sink down and expose his lower abdomen. A stationary shot can be fired from the side and that's how the bullet picked-up fibers from Chen's jacket.  Although when he was laying down it is in one line, when he is standing because the cloth (jacket) will tilt forward, it will not look like it is in one line. However, the bullet only contained fibers of jacket but didn't contained the fibers of dress shirt and under shirt. So, one shot might not completely match the fact. This show Mr. Chu's claim (that dress shirt and under shirt should be shot by another bullet in advanced - this will be explained later) was true. Thus, these bullet holes on clothes should be caused by two shots but not three shots and one of bullets was shot when Chen laid down.

It is impossible for Chen to be standing in a moving vehicle to suffer a level grazing wound from a single bullet.  It is even more impossible for the locations of the bullet holes in his jacket, dress shirt, and under shirt not to line-up when Chen was only shot once.  The above facts further prove that Chen was not shot while he was standing on the open-top jeep during the rally. So, Chen must be shot elsewhere under control circumstances by a contracted shooter.     This conclusion is consistent with the evidences (bullet holes on Chen's clothes) and report.

What has happened after Dr. Chu published his charges in the book?

Although Chen still deny it was a staged shooting,  he didn't take any legal action to sue Dr. Chu.   Based on his investigation, Dr. Chu gave a copy of his book to Taiwan Control Yuan Commissioners (who oversight Taiwan government officials' misconduct and crimes) and asked them to investigate Chen.

Dr. Chu also pointed out Chen’s whereabouts was unaccounted for 10 minutes on the day of the shooting.  Chu suspects that was the time slot when the shooting was staged.  I also disagree with this opinion.  After being shot, if untreated, the injury might continue to bleed and this can lead to serious consequences/death.  To stage a shooting and provide quick treatment within 10 minutes, it will be impossible for Chen to travel to Tainan and continue campaigning.  But, it is very possible to take off the near identical clothing he had on in the morning and gave it to his assistants.  They will smear it with the petroleum-based ointment (these are look like blood strain). Then, Chen switched those clothes back on after he checked into Chi-Mei hospital. So, this shot was fired after he entered Chi-Mei hospital (the hospital's owner is also a DPP member).

Based on news report and Dr. Chu’s investigation, Chen had took off what he was wearing and switched to a different set of near identical clothing during the morning.  So, he was wearing another set of clothes at Tainan city.  Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau's forensic analysis found no gunpowder residue on Chen's clothing.  This showed that Chen had taken off the jacket he was wearing during the rally and switch on the jacket he wore in the morning before he was shot.  This is the jacket examined and a lot of petroleum-based ointment has been smeared on it  (look like blood stain).  If Chen were shot during the rally, his jacket must contain gun powder.  Because Tainan city is Chen's stronghold hometown and  people set off fire crackers on street everywhere during the rally.  Evidence proves that Chen Shui-Bian was not shot during the rally. He was shot after he entered Chi-Mei hospital and switched back his jacket (that he took off in morning and a lot of petroleum-based ointment has been smeared on).

Why would Chen switch his clothes before he was shot?

Because another jacket and dress shirt, underwear had been smeared on a lot of petroleum-based ointment, so it look like there's a lot of blood stain.  This was used to mislead the public that Chen were seriously shot to gain sympathy votes..

However, forensic evidence analysis show that these are only very little blood stain on jacket. Most suspicious blood stain are petroleum-based ointment which has been smeared on. That's why the lower half of the jacket did not have blood stained and was not the same jacket Vice President Lu already touched in car. Also, the jacket did not have gunpowder residue and it prove that the jacket was not the same jacket Chen wore during the  rally (see detail explanation on Finding II).

The above two facts (Chen's jacket only contained very little blood stain and jacket did not have gunpowder residue) proves that Chen had switched his jacket (which he wore during the rally) before he was shot.

Question is why did Chen took off the jacket that he was wearing in the morning. Switch on another set of near-identical clothing. Then, after entering the hospital, switch back on the original set?

This was preparation for staging the shooting. Since the shooting was clear the work of high level officials of DPP to win over sympathy votes. In order to deceive the voters on the day before the election, Chen’s wound must seem to be serious to the TV audience, so people will believe that he was severely injured to win sympathy votes. So, the clothing he was wearing must appear to stain with a lot of blood. But, if they used fake blood, it would be exposed during the forensic investigation. So, Chen need to take off his jacket, dress-shirt and under-shirt from the morning. Give it to his conspirators to rub the petroleum-based ointment onto the jacket and clothing.  These stains would appear to the camera like blood stains and it would mislead the public that Chen was severely bleeding. After Lu was shot, Chen and Lu were both taken to the Chi-Mei hospital, Chen put on the jacket he wore that morning and was shot. So, the jacket in the hospital and other cloth gave the impress that there have a lot of blood stain. This type of photo on the day before election are used to win sympathy votes. This conclusion is consistent with the evidence that bullet holes on Chen's clothes are not on a same trajectory and do not line up with Chen's wound..

II.  Second Key Finding:  Forensic analysis conducted by Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) did not find gunpowder residue on President Chen’s clothing (Jacket).  Also, the large stains on his clothes (initially thought to be blood stain) were left by a petroleum-based ointment.  Evidence prove that only very little real blood stain left on Chen's clothes  The above two finding prove that although the jacket was shot but it was not the same jacket which Chen wore during the rally.

(A). Analysis of the gunpowder residue and its pattern can provide an important information.  It can determine if Chen was shot at close range.  If shot at close range, analysis can determine the direction of shooter with respect to Chen.  This is also important to determine if the shooting was staged.  Dr. Henry Lee’s forensic team brought special equipments to detect gunpowder residue and determine whether it was in splatter or freely scattered pattern (caused by the firecrackers set-off around him).  Further analysis might be used to resolve many question.

After reviewing Taiwan’s CIB analysis, Dr. Lee certified that Chen’s jacket did not contain any gunpowder residue.  Since there was no residue, it indicated that the gun was not fire at close range or the gunpowder from the gun would create a splattering pattern on Chen’s jacket.  However, it is illogical for his jacket to have no gunpowder residue.  This because Chen’s supporters set-off firecrackers all around his open-top jeep at Tainan during his rally.  This means some of the gunpowder from the firecrackers would be blown onto his jacket and formed as a scattered pattern.

So, it is unreasonable for Chen’s jacket to contain no gunpowder.  Since Chen’s jacket (the most outer clothing) did not have any gunpowder residue, this prove the jacket examined by Taiwan’s CIB was not the jacket Chen wore during the rally.
This evidence proves that Chen was not shot during the rally but was shot later at a controlled environment to create a slight graze on his abdomen.

However, some might try to deny this fact and claim that the gunpowder residue on jacket might be unintentionally removed by Chi-Mei hospital when its staffs collected the evidences.  This argument of residue removal cannot be accepted. Why? There are two reasons. First, the Chi-Mei hospital is a large hospital and cannot be this sloppy at collecting criminal evidence.  Second, the firecrackers are set-off all along the street.  So, the smokes/gunpowders would envelope Chen's entire motorcade.  So, Chen's jacket should have gunpowder from firecrackers scattered pattern all round his jacket (front and back). So, Chi-Mei hospital certainly cannot remove all of the gunpowder residue on the jacket accidentally. Thus, Chi-Mei's staffs had to intentionally tamper the evidence in order to remove all of these gunpowder residue.  If they did intentionally tampered with evidences to remove all of the gunpowder residue, then Chi-Mei staffs were not removing these gunpowder because there was a scattering pattern caused by the firecrackers.  It must be because the gunman fired his gun at close range and they need to remove the splattered pattern to avoid exposing this as a staged shooting.

(B). On 4th April 2004, Vice President Annette Lu released her account of the 3/19 shooting.  In her statement, she states: She felt a sharp pain on her knee and began bleeding.  ...  Her hands touched the lower left corner of Chen’s jacket.  She felt it was wet and sticky.  So, she suspected Chen was also injured.  When she saw the bullet hole in the front windshield, she realized it was an assassination attempt.  She can see Chen grimacing.  She thought to herself that Taiwan’s President and Vice President had never been shot at the same time before.  She tried to alert the security that there had been an assassination attempt.  They couldn't hear her because of the crowd.  They continued on the campaign rally route for several minutes

According to Lu’s account, lower left corner of Chen’s jacket was wet and sticky.  This indicated that Chen’s blood had soaked through his under-shirt, dress shirt and started to soak his jacket.   Yet, after examining the evidences, Dr. Lee stated there are few actual blood stains on Chen’s clothing.  The large stains on his clothes (initially thought to be blood stain) were left by a petroleum-based ointment (see details on Third evidence/finding).  This further prove that Dr. Lee did not examine the jacket Chen wore during the rally.

What is the real reason the bullet which injure Chen was found in Chi Mei Hospital?

This is not because when Chen was rallying the voters, the bullet which “injured” him was trapped in his jacket and was brought to the CM hospital.  But, it is because after Chen enter into CM hospital, he secretly changed the jacket used this morning and then was shot.  This is why the bullet was not found in the car (as another bullet which fired on Vice President Lu's knee) but was found in the hospital.
Why did Chen need to change back into his clothing from that morning before being shot?  There are two reasons.

(1). Clothing that Chen used that morning had been smeared with petroleum-based ointment.  These stains seem like blood stain, so Chen switched on these clothing and then allow himself to be shot.  This allow these clothing to be displayed in the media and give the illusion that Chen lost a lot of blood. This was used to win him sympathy votes, the day before the election.

(2).  The clothing Chen wore during the rally was concealed and disposed of.  In order to mislead Lu into believing Chen was also shot and served as a witness, the pocket of Chen’s jacket was rig to leak fake blood.  This fake blood cannot be tested or it would exposed Chen was not shot on the car.  So, the jacket was disposed and This is why the jacket examined by Henry Lee does not have gunpowder residue drifted onto the jacket from firecrackers.  The bottom of the jacket was not wet and sticky because the prop was in another jacket during the  rally.  This the reason of very little real blood stain was found on the jacket.

III:  Third Key Findings: Evidence prove that after Lu was shot during the campaign rally, Chen pretended to be injured and misled Annette Lu into thinking he was also shot..

In Lu’s published account of the 3/19 shooting, she wrote that after she was shot her hand made contact with the lower left corner of Chen’s jacket.   It was sticky and wet.  She thought to herself, was Chen also wounded?  She thought  that some blood had dripped down to Chen's jacket.  This means that a lot of blood had soaked through his shirt.

But, Lu’s observation was inconsistent with forensic expert Dr. Lee’s findings.

Lee found that most of the reported blood-stain were left by a petroleum-based ointment.  There were few real blood stain.  This is surprising because Lu’s observation means blood was dripping down Chen’s jacket.  Then, why didn't Lee found these blood on Chen's jacket?  Because the examined jacket was not the same jacket which Chen wore during the rally.

Lu also wrote their jeep continued on the originally designated route for several more minutes until VP Lu insisted that they are taken to the nearest hospital.  A total of 15 minutes elapsed between the time of shooting and the time they arrived at the hospital.  So, if VP Lu's observation was correct, Chen Shui-bian was on the jeep for 15 minutes with a large wound to his abdomen.  No major effort was made to stop the bleeding except apply some petroleum based ointment.  This would not stop the bleeding.  So, Chen’s clothing should have absorbed a lot of blood.

Furthermore, gravity will cause the blood to flow downward.  According to Lu’s account, Chen did not lay down on the jeep.  Also, the lower part of his jacket was already wet from his blood.  So, it would seem that the blood soaked through his outer clothing to the lower part of the jacket.  Then, his underwear (brief/boxer) should have been also soaked with blood as the blood drip down his body.  But, this was inconsistent with the forensic report.  According to the investigator, Chen’s underwear (boxer/brief) was not kept as evidence because it did not have any blood stain.  Yet, if the blood had soak through the dress shirt and the jacket, how could blood not have drip down and stain his underwear (box/briefs)?  This prove Annette Lu was wrong when she thought Chen was hit and bleeding or she was fooled by Chen’s acting and props.

Forensic analysis showed that Lu’s observation was wrong.
Fact shows Lu’s opinion and deduction was wrong.  Since she did not know the truth behind the shooting, her observation that Chen was shot with here during the rally was resulted from Chen’s acting, so her deduction is inconsistent with the facts of the case.  So, Lu’s personal testimonies cannot be counted on to prove that Chen was shot during the rally.  Forensic examination of evidence (jacket did not contain gunpowder residue and had very little blood stain, locations of bullet holes in jacket, dress shirt and wound do not match), already prove Chen’s wound was not sustained during the rally, so it should have been staged after he entered into Chi Mei hospital.  So, after using a gunman to create a slight graze on Chen's abdomen, Chen immediately received medical care in hospital to stop blooding and then only left a little blood strain on Chen's clothes.  This conclusion consist of all evidence and findings.

IV: Fourth Key Findings. This is a staged assassination because the first shot targeted on VP Lu's knee.  If the shooter really intended to attack President Chen Shui-Bian, then the gunman would fire his first shot at Chen but not Lu.  Since the gunman shot Annette Lu first and only targeted on her knee, it only proves that this is a staged assassination.  The evidence further prove that Chen's claim (he was also shot during the rally) was a hoax.

Why must Chen's injury from the rally be a hoax?
If this shooting was real an assassination attempt, then there are three possibilities.  (1).  The shooter intended to kill Chen.  (2).  The shooter intended to kill Lu.  (3).  The shooter intended to kill them both.

(1).  If the gunman wanted to kill Chen, then he would shoot Chen first.  Otherwise, he would alert the security and risked being arrested (or mobbed by Chen’s supporters).  He will be prevented from shooting Chen in any case.

(2).  If the gunman only wanted to kill Lu, then he would only fire at Lu and the second shot would also be fired at her since she was still alive.  There would be no reason to shoot Chen if gunman's target was Lu.

(3).  If the gunman wanted to kill both Chen and Lu, then he would still shoot Chen first because Chen is the higher-value target of the two.

Based on the video of the incident, damage to the windshield and forensic evidences, it showed that the shooter decided to attack at Annette Lu first.  So, it would seem he only wanted to kill her.  But, then Chen reported that he was also hit.  Both Motive-wise and operational-wise shooting Chen after Lu does not make sense.  If the gunman intended to harm Chen, then Chen had to be the first target.  Why would not the gunman attack Lu before Chen if he really wanted to shoot Chen?
Although it is physical possible, it is illogical and operationally dangerous for the gunman to carry the shooting in this order.  This chances of being arrested before firing at Chen (the higher-value target of the two) is too great.

Analyzing the circumstances of the shooting showed that this was not a real assassination attempt.  If the gunman had wanted to kill Lu, he would have targeted vital area such as the heart (chest region) or the head.  Instead, the first shot was targeted on Lu's knee and only injured Lu especially since Lu was wearing a knee protector.

So. forensics expert Dr. Henry Lee also said that this was not real assassination because it didn't  target on vital area and the bullet only contained less black gunpowder.
This shooting obviously was not an assassination attempt but a staged assassination.  If this was staged, they would only want to shoot the chief-conspirator (Chen) who sponsored it to minimize the chances of exposing the conspiracy.  Then, why would the first shot target the Lu’s knee?  The only possibility is that chief-conspirator was not shot.   Thus, Chen needed someone to be shot at scene in order to convince the public there was an attempt on the president's life.  This allowed him to falsely claim and pretend that he was injured along with Lu.  Since Vice President Lu was really shot and they would be taken to hospital, it easily allowed Chen to conceal that he was not shot from the rally.

Since Chen was pretending to be shot, he obviously would not let his “wound” to be seen publicly.  So, Chen's harm must be covered by the clothes.  To mislead the public, Chen had his arm constantly over his abdomen region and let  his security officer (Tainan city police chief) was seen rubbing Chen's body.  These actions were used to pretend and mislead the public that Chen was also injured during the rally.

Why didn't they just shoot Chen in car if he staged this shooting?  (1).  To gain sympathy votes, Chen's harm must appear serious to the public.  So, he cannot only take a light injury just like Vice President Lu.  But, to create such kind of  injury, the shooter might accidentally shoot the wrong place and cause serious injury.  (2).  They needed to stall for time to obscure the true location of crime scene and help the shooter to escape.  This would made the case difficult to crack.  If Chen was shot during the rally, he might lose too much blood as they stalled for time.  Also, they need time to allow their car (the open-top jeep) to move closer to Chi Mei Hospital (privately owned by DPP member), so they can justify going to Chi Mei as opposed to the major public hospital of the area, Chen Gung hospital.

Since Chen cannot be shot during the rally, he had to pretend to be injured.  He also needed someone tot be truly injured during the rally to convince the public of a shooting.  So, they decided to shoot Lu in order to make Chen’s performance convincing.  Concerned that Lu would refuse to participate or refuse to be shot, they did not tell her.

V: Fifth Key Finding: Two spent shell casings were found at the same spot more than 6 mile away from original-presumed crime scene.  It was used by the shooters to create the impression that one gunman had fired two shots.   This is clearly intentionally planted to show that Chen was also shot at the rally.  This is misdirection tactic actually demonstrate this was a staged shooting and only VP Lu was shot that day on the jeep. Why?

Based on fact and ballistic angle, a single shooter cannot stay at a same place to  shoot both Chen and Lu  in a few seconds from two huge different angle.  Obviously, the same gunman could not have shot Lu’s knee from a 38 degree angle and immediately shot Chen's abdomen from a 90 degree angle to cause a horizontal grazing wound.  Even if there were two shooters, it is impossible to cause a horizontal wound on Chen while he was on a moving jeep.  So, Chen cannot have been shot during the rally.  Also, forensic analysis by Taiwan's Criminal Investigation Bureau showed that Chen Shui-Bian's jacket have no gunpowder residue, which indirectly prove that he was not shot from the rally.

To cause the horizontal wound requires two conditions, (A) the gun must be at 90 degrees with respect to Chen.  With Chen on the moving jeep, the window of opportunity is only a few seconds and it is too slim.  (B) the gunman must be stationary holding the gun perfectly parallel to the ground.  Under these two conditions, only with everything held stationary can this injury be created.  So, it is impossible with a moving jeep.

Based on the reconstruction of crime scene and the bullet hole on the windshield, the gunman had to fire his gun at 38 degree angles to hit Lu.  Then, he had to wait until the jeep move in front of him and the gunman had to hold the gun at 90 degree angles to hit Chen.   So, if Lu’s shooter stayed in the same conceal position, the gunman was not able to shoot Chen to cause level wound within a few seconds.

If Chen were shot in the rally by another gunman, the shooter must hid in position in which was at the same height as Chen and the jeep had to stop in order for the shooter shoot.  The windows for this to occur is extremely slim.  Even if Chen's shooting was staged, it will be extremely difficult to occur on the street.  Furthermore, the shooter was able to fire two consecutive shots without arousing suspicions of Chen's supporters which packed the street.  This is impossible to accomplish.  So, fact shows that only Lu was shot from the rally.  Yet, someone intentionally left two spent casing six miles away from the original presumed crime scene.

This misdirection was intended to prove the shooting was done by a single gun with two shots.  But, this misdirection only further expose this was a staged shooting.  Although they are trying to mislead others to believe Chen was also shot during the rally, but based on the evidences and circumstances, clearly it is impossible to a gunman who fired the gun twice in a row and hit both Lu and Chen within a few seconds at a huge different angle.

VI: Sixth Key Finding:  Using laser beam, Henry Lee was unable to determine a spot where the shooter was hiding to fire two shots and hit VP Annette Lu and President Chen.  There are three possible explanations for this.

(1). The jeep’s windshield had been altered or swap out.  (2).  Both person (VP Lu and President Chen) were not shot on the jeep.  (3).  One person was not shot on the jeep.

If it was the first reason (windshield had been altered or swapped out), then the evidences had been tampered.  Hence, the original crime scene cannot be recreated using these evidences.  If we assume the evidence had not been tampered, then the bullet hole in the windshield prove that VP Lu was shot.  Dr. Henry Lee also demonstrated the bullet which hit VP Lu came through the windshield because the bullet contained microscopic glass fiber from the windshield.  This can eliminate the 2nd possibility (Both President Chen and VP Lu were not shot on the jeep).  Then, the remaining possibility is that only one person was not shot on the jeep.  Since Dr. Henry Lee’s analysis showed that VP Lu was indeed injured (through microscopic glass fibers and established a bullet trajectory), we need to examine if Chen was shot when he was on the jeep.

President Chen’s wound resulted from a bullet grazing across his abdomen.  It was straight and level indicating the bullet was traveling parallel to the ground.  This wound is possible when the target was in a stationary position.  It is impossible for anyone to shoot a person on a moving vehicle and produce such of wound.  If Chen was not shot on the jeep, then that is the true reason why Dr. Lee cannot establish an intersection between the two bullet trajectories (where a shooter fired two shots to injure both Lu and Chen).

So, Chen was not injured on the car and was only pretending to be shot.  This is why Henry Lee cannot find an intersection between the two bullet trajectories.

Then, where was Chen shot?  Chen did not honestly answer this question.  Based on released report, time, and where the bullet was found, it deduce that he was shot after entering Chi-Mei hospital before the doctor reached him.

VII:  Seventh Key Finding:  There is no evidence to prove that Chen was shot on the jeep.  Lu was clearly shot.  The bullet hole on the windshield matched the bullet path which injured her.  The bullet was also found in the jeep and Lu was carried into the hospital.  But, there isn't a second bullet hole on the jeep and the second bullet was not found on car too.  So, there is no direct physical evidence to prove the shooter had fired a second shots at Chen.

Before the shooting press conferences, Chen’s wound was covered-up and hidden away.  Although there was medical-care render, it involved the use of petroleum-based ointment.  This was done under the cover of his cloth, so people can't see if there was a wound.  Beside VP Lu mistakenly thought Chen was shot, no one see Chen bleeding.   Based on the hospitals surveillance video, Chen normally walked in the hospital without need of assistance.  There isn't any direct evidence on the street to prove he was injured.  It would seem that the rubbing of petroleum-based ointment and hold of his abdomen were part of an act.

If Chen was indeed shot on the jeep, typical bullet have some penetration power.  Unless it was embed itself in the target's body, it will be left at the crime scene.  Only bullet lodge in the victim's body would be found in the hospital.  Why wasn't the bullet that injured Chen found inside the jeep?!  This seem illogical.  Based on findings 1 to 5, it already demonstrate Chen was not shot while rallying the voters.  The only logical conclusion is that Chen was not shot from the rally.

In interview with Taiwan's press, Dr. Henry Lee explain that the shooting was not an assassination attempt.  This was because the gunpowder in the shells were intentionally reduced and the gunman targeted area that would not be lethal.

If the gunman specially made low-penetration-power bullet cartage by using insufficient gunpowder, then what is the true intention of the shooting?   This goal is obviously to create the impression of an assassination attempt..  Then, what is the motivation for the gunman to take such a risk as shooting the Taiwan President?  Also, why wasn't the gunman caught?!  There is only one logical answer, the shooting was Chen’s ploy to win the election.  The fake assassination can win over many sympathetic vote in a close election.

The bullet used to shoot Chen was so special that its low penetration power cause the bullet to be trapped inside Chen’s jacket after grazing Chen’s abdomen (This is based on Chi-Mei hospital's explanation).  If Chen were shot from the rally, it is impossible to a bullet that would not drop down on the car since it was not lodge in Chen's body but trap by Chen's jacket.  Why?
First,  Chen himself frequently used his hand through his jacket to touch his abdomen. This action would have caused the bullet to drop down onto the car even it was trapped by Chen's jacket.  Furthermore, since Chang, Chun-Po (security department chief at the presidential residence) lifted up Chen's clothing to apply the petroleum-based ointment, the bullet should have fallen out onto the jeep.  After the shooting, it took a total of 15 more minutes before Chen reached Chi-Mei hospital.  All the rubbing and vibration from the moving jeep, the bullet should have fallen out onto the jeep by the time they got to Chi-Mei if Chen were shot from rally.   However, the bullet that injured Chen was not found on the jeep.

These facts showed that Chen was not shot during the rally.  This bullet can't be so special that it seem glued onto the Chen's jacket and just would not fall out.  Nor did it fall out when Chen walked into the Chi-Mei hospital.  The bullet did not fall out even Chen took the X-ray.  It was finally found after Chi-Mei hospital mistakenly show a X-ray photo of Chen to TV that including a bullet was placed on vertebra. This X-ray photo had misled the public to think that Chen Shui-Bian was seriously injured but it was absolutely not true. Obviously, no body will believe above bullet's situation is logical and real.  It only conclude that Chen was not shot from the rally but was later shot in the Chi-Mei hospital.

Based on these evidences, there isn't any evidence to prove Chen was shot during the rally.  The findings of the forensic analysis further shows Chen was not shot during the rallying.  Yet, why is the media so easy to be deceived?  Obviously, this is the result of the DPP propaganda.  Is their any eyewitness who saw Chen was shot during the rallying?  The answer is no.  Why?

Who can testify that Chen was shot during the rallying?  If Lu want to testify, based the third key finding, Lu was already deceived by Chen’s subterfuge.  So, Lu’s observation and conclusion are contrary to the truth.  Even if she does testify, she cannot be believed (based on forensic analysis, the lower portion of Chen’s jacket did not have blood stain).  If Chang, Chun-Po claimed he witness Chen being wounded, then why didn't he immediately contact the local authority to seal the crime scene to arrest the shooter.  Yet, why did he delay contacting the local police which aided and abetted the shooter to escape and allowed the crime scene to be destroyed.  This make him a suspect of conspiring or even participating in this fake assassination.

If Gen. Chen Tsai-Fu (two-stars general who serves as Chen's chief security guard) claim he can testified that President Chen was shot during the rally, then why did Gen. Chen act as if  nothing had happened when a bullet went through the jeep’s windshield right in front of him?  Why didn't he contact the security to alert them of the shooting.  He is also suspect of conspiring and participating in the fake assassination.  They already are suspected of aiding and abetting the shooter and do not have credibility to be witness .  Since these top security officials had been also impeached and convicted by Control Yuan (see front news), it further prove that my conclusion is true.

According to UDN on 4/12/2004, Chou Hsi-wei point out, Chang, Chun-Po (security department chief at the presidential residence) started to rub unidentified liquid substance on Chen without inspecting Chen's wound.  This is illogical.

Based on the Chang's action, he appeared to be acting to create the impression that Chen was injured, instead of rendering medical assistance.
Can physicians at Chi-Mei hospital act as witness?  They can only testify to finding Chen was injured when they examined him in the hospital and they found the bullet.  This does not prove Chen was wounded during the rally.  Based on Findings 1 to 5, we already rule out Chen was shot during the rally.

Based on Chi Mei Hospital’s surveillance video, Chen walked in with even facial expression, there was no visible sign of bleeding on the clothing.  This indirectly prove Chen was not shot when he entered the hospital and the wound was manufacture after entering the hospital.  The CM hospital's action was also abnormal (released misleading x-ray photo), making one question its impartiality and whether or not it had conspired to fake.  Although Henry Lee indicated Chen cannot had shot himself, this does not rule out it was not a staged assassination.  If the shooter was conspiring with high level DPP officials, they would seek assistance of forensic expert how to conceal the truth.    So, the shooter can find out how to shoot Chen (making a slight graze on Chen's abdomen) at close range and avoid leaving evidence.  In addition to using a silencer, Chen’s jacket was cover with another layer of clothing, so there was no gunpowder residue on his jacket.

When asked by the press if Chen could have staged this himself, Henry Lee replied he cannot make a determination either way.  He only perform forensic analysis.  In truth, Chen did not even serve in the military, he might not even know how to shoot a gun.  But, this injury can be created with a shooter shooting with while he is lying down.  So, although Lee prove Chen did not fire the shot himself, it does not rule out him using a gunman to carry out the shooting.  It also does not conflict with the conclusion that Chen was not shot during the rally.

Based on forensic analysis, Henry Lee already showed Chen’s jacket did not have residue of gunpowder.  Based on the first evidence, this already showed Chen was not shot during the rally.  Analysis of Chen’s clothing showed that there was very little blood.  This showed that Chen received medical service immediately after the shooting, so there was very little blood stains.  These facts all prove that Chen was not shot from the rally.
Yet, Chen’s motorcade stayed on the rally route for another fifteen minutes after the shooting.  If Chen was shot from rally, this would mean his shirt should be soaked in blood.  But, the analysis showed that there was very little blood.  According forensic analysis, most of people thought were blood turn out to the petroleum-based ointment.  His underpants (brief/boxer) was completely free of any blood.
These evidences showed that Chen was not shot during the rally.  He should have been shot between the time after he entered the hospital and before the doctor arrived.  This could have been accomplished with a silencer gun in a room.  This allow him to receive medical treatment immediately hence there was very little blood on his clothing and none on his underpants .

So, the reality must be that Chen switched the jacket after he entered Chi-Mei hospital before taking a shot, so the jacket didn't have any gunpowder residue.  The lower half of the jacket also don't have blood stain which show it was the one Lu touched.  So, what the reason for using those petroleum-based ointment.  It is to make what look like blood stain and leave the impression that Chen was shot and lost a lot of blood.  This is to mislead the voters.  If he really sustained the injury at the rally, why does he need to pretend.  All this prove that he didn't get shot during the rally.

VIII.  Eighth Key Finding:  Chi-Mei hospital (Owner is a member of DPP) conspired to conceal Chen was not shot during the Tainan rally

Although Chi-Mei claim that the bullet was found in Chen’s jacket.  This does not prove Chen was shot during the rally.  Also, in handling of this case, Chi Mei made three obvious mistakes.  This shows Chi Mei was a conspirator and was specifically picked to concealed the truth.

(1).  Chi Mei violated standard procedure, they did not take blood samples of both Chen and Lu.  Also, they did not seal the cotton and bandage was stained with their blood.  Therefore, Chen can secretly be tranquilized and shot in the hospital without fear of leaving evidences.

China Times Weekly reported 3/30/2004, a senior forensic expert pointed out staffs at Chi Mei Hospital violate standard procedures and didn't take blood sample from Chen and Lu when they checked in.  Also, the bandage and cotton used to treat the wound was not sealed away as evidence.  Based on the expert's analysis, if the shooting was staged, Chen would be tranquilized and if blood sample were taken or the blood stained cotton/bandages were sealed, then test can be done to show if Chen was previously tranquilized.    However, regional tranquilization would be needed before stitching Chen wound, so any blood sample take afterward cannot prove whether or not he had previously been tranquilize.  The doctors at Chi Mei are responsible for this major mistake at collecting forensic evidence.

(2).  Before the vote, Chi Mei intentionally avoid informing the public that Chen was only slightly wounded.  Chi-Mei Hospital did release Chen's x-ray pictures to TV stations and it showed that there was a bullet in Chen's veterbrae region.  This gave the impression that Chen was severely injured.  This certainly win him a lot of sympathetic votes.  Clearly Chi Mei should not mistakenly release a misleading photos on TV and then claimed that the released photo was not reviewed.  This type of photo release to a President, obviously was not caused by an accident. It can be only explained as misleading the voters and allow Chen to win sympathy votes.

Hong Kong Consulting firm, International Risk, was hired by overseas Taiwanese to investigate this case, International Risk chief executive Steve  Vickers point out there are some 20 circumstances which make the shooting very suspicious.   The security system had received intelligence that someone might try to shoot before election.  However, the security officials didn't increase alert level and changed President car to civilian car in Tainan. The release of the X-ray photo which show a bullet lodge in Chen’s vertebrae.  This was done while the voting was still ongoing.  Another problem is how much blood did Chen lose.  The only way to settle these matter is through an independent commission to investigate this matter.

(3) All the previous seven key findings and forensic analysis proved that Chen was not shot during the rally at Tainan. Yet, the bullet was found in Chi Mei Hospital and Chen's wound was also treated at Chi-Mei, why is that?

All of the evidences and forensic analysis prove that Chen was not shot during the rally. Also, the jacket examined was not the one Chen wore during the rally. This proves that the shooting occur elsewhere controlled environment to create a slight graze on Chen's abdomen.  But, why was the bullet that injured Chen found in Chi-Mei and why did Chi-Mei released a misleading x-ray photo to the News Network? The only reasonable explanation is that Chen was shot after he entered Chi-Mei. He switched on the clothing he wore that morning. Then he laid down and allow himself to be shot.

Can Chi-Mei provide evidences to contradict evidences which show that Chen was shot during the rally? Of course, it can't.

If Chi Mei Hospital support Chen's assertion that Chen was shot during the rally, then shouldn't the bullet which only graze Chen fall onto the Jeep. Chen was on the jeep for fifteen minutes after being shot. During that time, beside Chen frequently touched his abdomen through his jacket,  the Chang (security department chief at the presidential residence) lifted up part of Chen's clothing to apply the petroleum-based ointment. With all the commotion (rubbing), if the bullet didn't penetrate through all of Chen's clothing, it should fall out when the cloth was lifted up.

Why didn't this bullet fall out on the jeep? Even more strange it did not fall out when Chen entered into the hospital and was undergoing treatment (taking X ray photo). It was as if the bullet was stuck on Chen's body.  Originally, the bullet graze Chen's abdomen. Yet, in Chen's x-ray photo, the bullet "moved" behind Chen's vertebrae. These circumstances are like that of an absurd comedy. How can Chi-Mei hospital explain these inconsistency?

Furthermore, the forensic analysis already showed the jacket examined was not the one Chen wore during the rally (the jacket did not have gunpowder residue, the lower corner of jacket did not have a lot of blood stain). Yet, the jacket examined did have bullet holes. however, the locations of bullet holes in his jacket, dress-shirt, and under shirt do not match up and line up with Chen's injury. This also prove that Chen's wound was not shot from the rally with a single bullet.
When Lee tried to find an intersection (on street) between the two bullet trajectory (one that injured Lu and the supposed other which injured Chen), he couldn't locate a spot where the gunman could have fired from.

All these evidences showed Chen couldn't have been shot during the rally. But, the bullet was found in Chi-Mei and Chi-Mei treated Chen. What does this mean then?

The only logical explanation is that Chen was shot after he checked into Chi-Mei Hospital by a co-conspirator. These all prove Chi-Mei participated in the shooting and was responsible covering up the truth about the staged assassination. That is the true reason why Chen was taken to Chi-Mei and not the government Chen Gung Public Hospital.

Only because Chen was shot after he checked into Chi-Mei, the bullet was found in Chi-Mei. This the true reason why although the bullet was not lodge in Chen's body, the bullet didn't fall out on the jeep.  These evidence, finding are consistent with the fact that Chen was shot after he entered Chi-Mei hospital.
After they "got" the bullet in Chi-Mei, then Chi-Mei can be used to help misled the public about the Chen's injury.

Misleading the public occurred when the bullet showed up in the x-ray as if it was lodge in Chen's vertebrae. This is after Chen's cloth was remove and x-ray photo was taken. This bullet didn't fall onto the group and it showed up behind Chen's vertebrae. this photo had been shown to the public and the voters would misled to believe Chen was severely injured. This win him the sympathy votes that he needed. Yet, these x-ray photo was inconsistent with the truth (because Chen abdomen was only slightly grazed).

Chi-Mei hospital's handling of the shooting led people to feel that it was not only biased, it was also a participant in a cover-up.

These actions of Chi-Mei's staff showed that not only did it violated the standard procedures in handling shooting case with respect to collecting and preserving forensic evidences. It seem to be intentionally concealing the truth, so it can be determine whether or not Chen was previously tranquilized before being treated at Chi-Mei.

Chi-Mei not only conspired to conceal the truth on Chen's staged shooting case, it was used to win sympathy votes for Chen by misleading the public that Chen was seriously injured with the release of erroneous x-ray photo. It was not simply treating Chen's wound. All these showed that the shooting was carefully planned to win sympathy votes. To achieve this goal, the bullet must be used in the hospital and then be used to misled the public. Since Chi-Mei can conceal the truth of the staged shooting and skillfully used the bullet to leaving the impression that Chen was seriously injured. This further shows that Chen was not shot at the rally but in the hospital. If Chen was hit during the rally, the bullet would have fallen out onto the car. This would prevent Chi-Mei from making Chen's injury seem more serious than it was.

All these evidences point to that after checking into Chi-Mei, Chen switched on his jacket and clothing he wore that morning. then undergoes regional tranquilization. This showed Chi-Mei violated the standard procedures at collecting and preserving forensic evidences was intentional. These were done to conceal the truth. The advantage of being shot after check into Chi-Mei are: (1) use of regional tranquilization to reduce pain from gunshot wound. (2). Chen can receive immediate medical attention to avoid serious mishap, reduce loss of blood. (3). There are many opportunities to switch on his morning clothing at Chi-Mei. (4). The bullet can be put in any position during the taking of x-ray photo. misleading the public into thinking Chen was seriously hurt.

Based on above eight evidence, it does prove that Chen's shooting was 100 % staged in order to win sympathy votes.   Also, the following two news reports prove that the conclusion is consistent with this fact.

(1). According to 3/21/2004, THE NEW YORK TIMES report, Su Chi, a top officer KMT, said that Chen Shui-Bian had faked assassination 18 years before (see details on following source).

(Source) "Taiwan's Leader Wins Vote; Tally Is Disputed" By KEITH BRADSHER and JOSEPH KAHN,  THE NEW YORK TIMES (3/21/2004)
========
"Su Chi, a senior adviser to Mr. Lien and a top Nationalist Party official, said Saturday night that the shooting raised a number of questions that investigators did not have time to answer before the vote. He said Mr. Chen, running for office in Tainan 18 years ago, appeared at an election-eve rally with an intravenous drip and claiming that he had been poisoned by the Nationalists, then the governing party. He appeared healthy the next day, Mr. Su said, saying the poisoning charge was an election gambit.

(2). In a radio interview (7/6/2004), Taiwan Legislator Su, Ying-Kuei (independent) revealed a senior member of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) had told him on the day of the Presidential shooting that DPP had a ultra secret plan to win the election.

Legislator Su explained on the day of the shooting (3/19/2004), he was at a Taiwan cable news station for a discussion on Constitutional Reform.  But, the topic was changed to the shooting when the shooting news broke.  A fellow panelist was a senior DPP member.  During the commercial break, this senior DPP member privately told Legislator Su that the DPP's Presidential Re-election strategy contained an ultra secret plan.  Only two to three people know about it.  This senior DPP member also hinted that he believe constructivism determine the history and not accidentalism.  Although this senior DPP member's statement does not prove the 3/19/2004 shooting was part of the DPP's ultra secret plan to re-elect Chen, the ruling DPP should give the people a clear explanation, said Su.

The conduct of this senior DPP member showed that he was not worry about  personal safety and health of President Chen after shooting.  The conversation took place soon after the senior DPP official found out about the shooting.  Why wasn't he worry about Chen's safety and health ?  Also, he did not discuss the impact of the shooting.  Instead, he privately revealed to Su that DPP had an ultra secret plan to re-elect Chen.   Putting these two together, it showed that this senior DPP member already know this shooting would not cause Chen serious injury.  This staged shooting should be part of the DPP's ultra secret plan.

According to Taiwan's Press (ET Today) on the afternoon of 7/6/2004, senior DPP Legislator Lin, Cho-Shui came forward to respond to Legislator Su's statements.  Legislator Lin emphasizes that he did not reveal DPP had an ultra secret plan being carried out on 3/19/2004.  Lin admit he believes in constructivism.  But, he was stunned with how Legislator Su portrayed his belief.  Lin points out he never mentioned DPP on 3/19/2004 had a ultra secret plan controlled by a three man team.  I am not a top re-election campaign official, so even if there was such a ultra secret three-man team, I wouldn't know it, said Lin.

Although Lin denied ever revealing to Legislator Su that DPP had a ultra secret plan on 3/19/2004.  This only mean he didn't clearly said DPP had an ultra secret plan being carried out on 3/19/2004.  But, he did not deny there was a ultra-secret plan controlled by a three men group.  Lin avoided the issue by claiming he was not a top re-election official, so even if there was a ultra secret three-men team, he wouldn't know it.  So, the difference between Su and Lin's characterization of their conversation was only in the word used.

But, the fact remains, Lin was unconcerned about the the safety of Chen when TV reported Chen was shot.  This show Su's statements are highly reliable.  Also, another DPP Legislator Wang Xhin-an who was talking about Chen's shooting before Chi-Mei hospital openly announced that Chen was shot on the March 19, 2004.  These facts prove that some involved (or senior) DPP members already knew that Chen would be shot (on 3/19/2004)  before it happened.

The staged assassination has changed the result of Taiwan President election. It proves that Chen Shui-Bian (DPP leader) has the support of Taiwan invisible personnel; otherwise, this secret cannot be covered-up (facts prove that the other Parties' invisible personnel didn't notify this secret to their parties' leaders).
Since Chen Shui-Bian has used and proffers to use illegal means (just like Taiwan former invisible personnel's chief Chiang Ching-Kuo) to keep DPP as Taiwan ruling party, the "democratic election" is not real and later election could be also fake.

Since US is still considered Taiwan as an ally, we have rights to know the truth
behind the election. US should have an expert to know the real information about this election in Taiwan to understand Taiwan's real political situation in order to handle the problems in the future. Furthermore, although US policy is one China, DPP is moving toward independence and would easily cause war with China in the future.
What is the real interest of US? Does US need to support DPP under such kind of circumstance and consider China as a future enemy? or support another Party who is willing to talk to China to prevent US from being involved the war with China in the future?
