PRESENTATION STYLES
Lowell uses a variety of different methods to make the most of each individual carving. Some use glass-domed custom-designed habitats, wall-plaques, manzanita-root mounts, and driftwood-base mounts. Groupings are available upon request.



 

COMMISSIONED WORK
Lowell Alford relishes the opportunity to re-create, in three-dimensional form, your favorite species and/or trophy catch. Click here for sample photos. Please contact the artist for more information.

MATERIALS
Each piece begins as a block of wood. Lowell hand-carves each fish, often adding finely-crafted details such as carved crayfish or hand-tied flies. His recent creation "Brookie in Autumn" features many hand-carved items: rocks, driftwood, leaves, minature 8" Brook Trout, and a hellgramite (shown on the far right green rock). Authentic colors and markings are derived from a combination of stains and/or paints. A personalized certificate of authenticity is included with each finished piece and includes a brief artist biography.
Prices start at $100 (U.S.).
