NE602, A One-Chip Receiver Front-End

A One-Chip Receiver Front-End

by Joseph Carr

Recently, while going through the many books and magazines that I have collected over the years, I came across a 1993 Radio Craft that contained a very good article by Joseph Carr on using the NE602 IC. When I bought the magazine in '93 I wasn't as interested in the NE602 as I am today. Glad I saved it. After reading it a couple times I thought that many on the QRP-L email list would also enjoy reading it. I sent a letter to Larry Steckler, Editor-In-Chief and Publisher of Radio Craft (and other Gernsback publications), asking permission to put this article on my web site. He very kindly gave me the OK. Larry goes back a long way with Gernsback. There was Radio Craft, Radio-Electronics, Electronics Now, Special Projects, Hands-On Electronics, Popular Electronics, and Poptronics. And it doesn't stop there. The Poptronics web site, WWW.POPTRONICS.COM, is still alive in his current venture, "Poptronix Online", an online electronics magazine. It is operated by Poptronix Inc., Las Vegas, NV. This is a terrific site! And if you've enjoyed Joe Carr's articles through the years, you will find many of them in the special Joe Carr section within the Feature Articles link. There is also an Interactive Section and much more. Click the link above to check out Poptronix Online and click the link below to read about the NE602.
