What Is This?
This is a much down-sized, and very late
version of my zine. The
on-line magazine is usually a scaled-down version of the magazine I
put in POD, the alternate history Amateur Press Association
magazine. To be honest, my contribution to July POD wasn't worth
putting on-line. It was thrown together starting about two days
before the deadline, and it showed. Life has been pushing
in on my writing time for the last several issues, and this time it
managed to completely shut me down for nearly two months.
I decided to wait until I had something worth putting on-line.
Unfortunately, that took a lot longer than I expected it to. This is a labor of
love though, and I don't have to sacrifice quality
to meet a deadline. I do try to impose a deadline on
myself in order to maintain my self-discipline, but if getting an
issue up on time means putting up junk, I try to avoid that.
In
any case, this is not a bad issue now. It continues the
time-line where Hitler doesn't declare war on the US after Pearl
Harbor. It reviews a very good book of Pacific War
what-ifs. It also explores a rather off-the-wall what-if. Sometimes I like to just take an idea and have fun
with it. The "Artemus Twiggley" time-line is just me having fun.
