Great ASL Links

Agora Language MarketPlace now has an ASL page. The ASL page lists a number of publishers and distributors of ASL materials and assistive devices.

A Basic Guide to ASL ... somebody went to an awful lot of trouble to key in all this information, but it's an explanation of how to move your hands dictionary and, as such, not all that useful for a three dimentional language.  You'd be better going to the Animated ASL Dictionary.

Animated ASL Dictionary is a great place to see signs in motion.

Cindy's Homepage on ASL & Deaf Culture ...  (out of Tampa, FL)

Communicating with Deaf People: A Primer ...  Substance and Alcohol Intervention Services

The Deaf Resource Library   ...  (used to be:  Karen Nakamura's Deaf Culture Page) It's the place to find just about everything on Deafness worldwide!

Deaf Resource Links page... how to contact all the other Deaf culture people.
 Finger Sign Language
Gallaudet Research Institute

Gesture Recognition Home Page  ... it isn't all sign ... but it's interesting to see where sign has gone :-)

Latrobe University's Deaf Sites
           Deaf Studies
Deaf Studies : a guide to Library resources

The Silent World ... a great poem.

Sign Language - InfOsite ... resources related to sign language

Sign Linguistics Resource Index

Tampa Bay Interpreters Network ... everything you'd want to know about hiring a "terp" in Tampa.

Welcome to Deaf Clubs ... a true Deaf club ... all the social info you could want on the 'net!

Welcome to DeafChat.com ... online chat with the Deaf.

Sherman Wilcox, University of New Mexico

PS ... If it looks like Agora and I share a lot of the same Academic websites, it's because they asked me to put the ASL page together for them :-)

Great ASL/Deaf Listservs

DEAFDIGEST (both the Blue Section & the Gold Section) are free, weekly e-mail newsletters for anyone interested in the deaf. For DEAFDIGEST subscription requests, mailto:barry@clark.net

TAMPA BAY AREA "DEAF EVENTS" CALENDAR, created and updated by Ed Marquardt, is strictly non-profit ... but a great resource if you're headed to Central Florida.  To subscribe, contact:  mailto:eddm@gte.net.

TeachASL comes either "digested" or "undigested" :-) ... and is a great resource for Teachers of ASL.  Members do not as a general rule, however, answer questions from students.  This is strictly a working list :-).  To subscribe, go to www.teachal.org

Terps-L comes either "digested" or "undigested" :-) ... and is a great resource for Interpreters of ASL.
