Ann Fisher Art Works is the name of my miniature business and this is my web site. My husband Larry Fisher also helps me with my miniatures. I'm also know as Ann Mowry for those of you who knew me at SIU during my college years, and as Anna Mae Mowry in Collinsville IL. the town of my childhood.   I have put my maiden name here just in case you are a miniature person that knew me as child or even when I  was an art student at SIU Carbondale back in the early 1960's. If you are from Caruthersville MO you just may know Larry.  His step dad ran Kasper's Bakery on Ward Ave. for many years.  It has been amazing to me just how many old friends and acquaintances that we have run into at miniature shows.

I think that you will enjoy looking at my large selection foods.  I also have a collection of toys which includes bears, bunnies, cats and other animals dressed in a variety of clothing all made of polymer clays. If you are a big Raggedy fan, I think that you will enjoy  the family of Raggedy Ann characters that I make. If your favorite Raggedy character isn't listed just ask me to create one for you.  All of my miniature pieces are meant for adult collectors and should never be given to small children as toys.  Most of my animals contain wires that work to support the figures while the clay is baking.

At present I don't have photos for all of the items listed on the price lists. If there is an item that you want to order but are not certain if you will like it ask me about it.  I would be more than happy to make up an item and send you a picture of it on email.  If it isn't what you want you do not have to buy it.

When we do shows, you can always count on seeing my husband Larry behind our sales table. If you come to our table at the right time you might find me there as well.   Since I enjoy shopping and visiting with customers and fellow miniature artists at the shows; my dear heart ends up holding down the fort most of the time.

I hope you enjoy your visit to my miniature site.  Be certain to bookmark us and check back often to see what's new.

This is the  main work table in my studio.  I do all of the modeling, painting, and assembling of the finished pieces at this table. I have additional tables that I use for mixing and rolling clay.  My  work table is rarely this clean. This is Tigger; he  used to be the head clay warmer.  My cat helpers take turns soaking up heat from the lamp and transferring  the warmth to the clay.  All of my clay is stored in plastic zip-lock bags, to keep the clay as fur-free as possible.  Sadly, our Tigger passed away on Feb. 28, 2001. Hi, I am Ann Fisher and this is my web site. I am the miniature artist behind the work that you will be looking at on these pages. I hope that you enjoy your visit. If  I can answer any questions  for you please feel free to email me at  amfisher01@aol.com

Meet Fred and Woody.  They are on the clay warming team. In this picture they are taking a well deserved rest. All of that clay warming can really wear a cat out! Here is a picture of the guys bird watching. This is Tudy; she is now the head clay warmer. Tudy spends most of her time in my miniature studio, so she thinks that she is in charge. We have installed a bird feeder just outside the second story studio window. The cats seem to enjoy watching the birds while they are warming the clay. Could a cat's life be any better!

A Little Something About My Work

I use Fimo, Cernit, and Sculpey polymer clays to create my miniatures.  I also use a variety of paints, stains, paper, wood, yarn, beads, and fabrics to create the look that I am trying to achieve.  It has been very hard for me to limit myself to just a few areas of the miniature world. I love trying new materials and techniques.
Many of my food items reflect the food I grew up eating. The roll setup, the baked ham, and the pot roast look just like my Mom's. The pies, pineapple upside down cake, and biscuits are my Daddy's  The food line is ever growing. Many of the items that I make are not pictured and are sometimes not even on the price list.  If there is something that you are looking for, please ask, because who knows, I may already make it or am developing it.  I will be branching out to create dishes that Larry and I now cook in our "real" kitchen.  I will  be adding fish and veggie dishes to reflect how a lot of us are eating these days. I will also be adding interesting desserts to my food line.
I will continue  to make the Raggedys and will be adding more of the family of characters.  I collect Raggedy books and other memorabilia, so it isn't as if I will run out of ideas anytime soon.  I will continue to create the toy sized bears, bunnies, cats, and other animals that many of you have been collecting for a number of years. If you have a special request in the bears, bunnies and cats line, please feel free to write or call me.
I have loved all of the dogs and cats that have passed though our home over the years; so making miniatures of them seems to be a natural thing to do.  I will be adding miniature pets to my line of miniatures in the near future.  My plans also include creating a line of wreaths, small floral arrangements, and other decorative accessories for the doll house.
