This fountain can be found in the back of the property of the Andrew Low House. The statue that you will find at its center was created by Girl Scout Foundress, Juliette Gordon Low.
The Andrew Low House should have special place in the hearts of Girl Scouts as it was the home of Juliette Gordon Low after she married William Low whose father, Andrew Low, built the house in 1848. Daisy, as she was known, visited her future husband's father in England and became great friends with William's sisters. It was over there in England that she and William fell in love.
William and Daisy were married in Savannah on December 23, 1886; about six months after the death of William's father. The couple spent much of their time in England using this house mainly as a winter residence. After William's death in 1905, Juliette lived at the home year round. On March 12, 1912, she founded the Girls Scouts of America in the library of the house. Juliette died in her bedroom at the house in 1927. A year later, the house was purchased by The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Georgia to be used as their state headquarters.
