Online News Updates: (04/20/98)

- "Spammers Get Theirs"

Washington State Internet Service Providers have put together legislative teams and are planning to take major online spammers to court due to a new law. Spamming is an everyday internet annoyance and people are fed up.

The law makes it illegal to falsify the point of origin of the message, provide misleading or false information in the subject line, or use a third party's Internet domain name without permission. The law applies to electronic mail sent from computers in Washington state or sent to e-mail addresses of Washington state residents.

                             - Meeting in Copenhagen later this week to discuss ways to promote security on the Internet

More than 200 people from Europe, Japan, the United States and other countries are expected to attend a hearing on Thursday and Friday on digital signatures and encryption -- the technologies used to ensure that electronic exchanges are authentic and confidential.

The hearing, sponsored by the Danish government and the European Commission, will clear the way for new European Union legislation on digital signatures.

Such signatures are considered crucial for transactions ranging from filing tax forms with the government to buying goods over the Internet.

GNN Community Update: (04/98)

- The New GNN is almost here.

GNN is now becoming one of the hottest internet resources on the net. With that in mind, I am pleased to report that new features are already being added to GNN and that the new pages are almost out of Beta stages. Soon enough, GNN wil once again evolve into an even better internet experience
As always, we want to always take this time to thank all of our visitors and to update them on what is coming to GNN in the near months. As you all have know, the first version of the GNN Gaming Forum has been added to the site not too long ago. These are all in the process of being re-developed. GNN will soon feature 'Internet Forums' such as a 'News' forum and others of the sort that will be full to the brim with the very best the net has to offer.
Notice something? In just a few months, The New GNN has changed more and more. These have been small changes thus far. Soon, version 2.0 of the page will be out. So far, a more professional look is promised. This enhancement is more like the first in a major renovation. Keep checking back often to see what's new and different. By the way, use the new 'Discover GNN' Jump button to fill out the FeedBack form.

Thank You,
Dan Camputaro
