Notice Week 2

Return to MAYSL President Information

To all (please distribute this to your coaches),

  1. Fines from week 1 - please use the MAYS approved roster issued to you at the pre-season Coach's meeting.  If you have submitted a revised roster since the meeting (remember to include 3 copies and stamped self-addressed envelope), you may use that revised roster.  Please do not drop off the revised rosters at the registrar's home, use the U.S. mail.  Please do not mail the rosters via the U.S. Mail with signature required upon delivery.
  2. BU18 schedule - game changes will be made due to the Worc Youth and Paxton teams that were withdrawn.  Please have your BU18 coaches check their schedules.
  3. U18 games - 40 minutes not 45 minutes.  Most of these teams have U16 age players and therefore a 40 minute half makes more sense.
  4. BU14-3 schedule - there only three teams in this group.  A season schedule of 8 games amongst three teams is not very fun!  I need to find a couple of teams that are willing to play some games in this group ASAP.  (I thought I had a couple but now I don't).
  5. BU10-3 West Schedule - game changes will be made due to the Sutton team that was withdrawn.  Please have your BU10-3 West coaches check their schedules.
  6. TRY has requested that their GU12-2 West team (Coach Green) be moved to Div 3. They have lost both games so far 8-0 and 12-1.  So please be aware of this and the potential for more schedule changes.
  7. If any of the newly scheduled games for the above mentioned groups create a field conflict, please reach a mutually acceptable new date between the coaches and let me know so I can update the www.thearbiter.net
  8. This Friday, September 22 is the last day to request game changes for Columbus Day Weekend - October 7-9.  Exceptions will be considered for games that have changed or will change in the BU18, BU10-3 West, BU14-3, GU12-2 West, and GU12-3 groups.  You must call your opponent and reach a mutually agreeable new date for the game.  Then let me know and the update will be posted on www.thearbiter.net
  9. Referee situation is frustrating this season.  Factors include late delivery of the schedule, lot's of morning games, and more high school games on Sat than year's past.  This is a triple impact issue with adults who referee both youth and high school games, adults who referee youth games and have children playing in high school soccer, and finally youth referees who also play high school soccer.  I am trying hard to keep on top of the game assignments, but do check your games on Sat/Sun morning.  If a referee has not been assigned by then - chances are pretty good there will not be an assigned referee to the game(s).  Please note item 2 above for games without assigned referees.
  10. Game Report for games without referees - if you don't have a referee for a game please send an email to Bob Leno, bleno21@charter.net with the game results so it can be posted on the standings http://members.aol.com/andytpage/fall2006/standingsfall2006.htm

That's all.

Andy
