The story of "Angel"and the birth of an art form by the designer of "Angel" Robert Petrick

In 1975 I began exploring possibilities in manipulating words and letterforms with the

intention of using the result in a "functional" context. which was totally different than

using the words of language and letters for simply

communicating ideas the wordform became the idea.

In 1976 I designed "Angel'" for Casablanca Records.

It was I was repeatedly published by Casablanca Records up until

the Angel Anthology CD in 1998.

The following is the story of how it came to be.

and hopefully a new book on my work.
