Deb's Kaleidoscope Potholder |
Materials: 4 balls cotton worsted wt. yarn in desired colors (I used pink, lt blue, white and navy); size F crochet hook.
Rnd 1: With color #1, ch 4, 13 dc in 4th ch from hook, slip stitch to top of beg. ch 4.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st as ch3, ch, skip next dc, (3 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc) 6 times, slip stitch to top of beg ch3. Join color #2 and tie off color #1.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st and ea of next 2 dc, (tr c in skipped dc of Rnd 1, sc in ea of next 3 dc) 6 times, sc in ea of next 3 dc, slip st to first sc. Add color #3, tie off color #2.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same stitch as ch, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 3 stitches, 2 sc in next sc) 6 times, 2sc in next 2 st, slip st to first sc. Add color #1; tie off color #3.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same sc, (*2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, tr c around post of tr c (below next sc) in Rnd 3,* sc in next sc) 6 times, repeat * to * once, sl st to beg sc.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 st, (2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 st) 13 times, sl st to beg sc. Attach color # 4; tie off color #1.
Rnd 7: Ch 2, hdc in same st & next sc, (*dc in scs below next 2 scs (carry yarn over top of scs), hdc in next 2 sc, dc in scs below next 2 scs (as above), hdc in next 2 sc, tr c around post of tr c in Rnd 4 (below next sc*, hdc in next 2 sc) 5 times, repeat * to * once, sl st to top of beg ch 2. Attach color #2; tie off color #4.
Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in next st, ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, tr c around post of next tr c, (dc in next 2 sts, ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, tr c around post of next tr c) 6 times, sl st to top of beg ch 3. Attach color #3; tie off color #2.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next st, (*tr c (in front of ch 3) into top of next 3 dc of Rnd 7, sc in next 2 dc, tr c in next 3 dc of Rnd 7(as above), sc in next 2 dc, tr c around post of next tr c (of Rnd 8), sc in next 2 dc) 6 times, repeat * to * once, sl st to beg sc.
Rnd 10: ch 1, sc in same st and every sc around, sl st to beg sc, ch 11, sl st to beg sc and tie off. Weave in all ends.
