Midwives I Have Known

When you have been on the same mailing list for a long time, you feel like you have come to know those with whom you share your innermost thoughts, dreams, and fears. A midwife list that I am on decided that we wanted faces to go with names. So here are the midwives that I have come to know and love.

Who are these midwives?
They come from all over the United States.
Midwives pictured are Betsy Hyde, Jude Kurokawa, Pat Sonnenstuhl, Zelda Collett-Paule, Joseph Shaeffer, Darryn Dunbar and Deb Phillips. In the MANA Conference pictures you will find Debbie Pulley, Ida Darragh, Mary Alexander, Signe Weaver, Faith Gibson, Barbara Leahy, Kelley Daniells, and me too. The speakers are Ina Mae Gaskin, Marshall and Phyllis Klaus, Robbie Davis-Floyd, and Anne Frye.

Have you ever wondered what your midwife was doing when she went off to convention? Look what these midwives are doing at the MANA conference that was in Austin in October 1996.
