Hans Apelqvist was born in Stockholm, Sweden. A fascination with form and precision originally guided him to study the ancient art of Silversmithing, while pursuing this activity he produced an unique and limited collection of innovative jewelry and orfevrerie combining rock crystal, rare woods, gold and silver.

In the early eighties his passion for nature brought him to beautiful Big Sur where he studied Sculpture and assisted Sculptor Loet Vanderveen. In collaboration with Vanderveen, Hans created a collection of exquisite Sculptured Jewelry.

Inspired by the original art of Rembrandt Bugatti and the brilliant characteristics of his work, Hans Apelqvist
bronze studies render the essential spirit of the individual subject, his present work is a homage to Wildlife.
