| 1) The code that you choose must be placed either on the page (URL) that you
submit to the ring or on a "rings" or "links" page that is linked
to the page submitted and easy to find on the page submitted. If you choose to place
the ring code on a page other than the front page of your site, the URL where the
code has actually been placed must be submitted to the ringmaster
when you notify him that the code is up and ready for final approval. |
|
| 2) Webrings are inherently designed with the assumption that the person submitting
their site has a good understanding of HTML source code. You must be able to cut
and paste source code into a HTML document . You must be able to read and recognize
whether or not a section of HTML code (fragment) matches the code fragment that you
have chosen to use. Any graphics that are obtained from this ring's home page MUST
be downloaded to your own computer and then uploaded to your own local directory.
Please do not link directly to the graphic choices on this ring's home page! |
|
| 3) When you submit a site to the Borzoi Lovers Webring, a default HTML fragment
is automatically generated for you. This code is ready to copy and paste with no
further adjustments. This code is guaranteed to work if it is copied and pasted exactly
as written. It is the responsibility of the submitter to ensure that the code works
and displays properly. |
|
| 4) If you do not wish to use the code that is provided (default code), you
also have the option of choosing from other prewritten codes provided for you on
this ring's home page in the "Graphics & Code" area. Using these
custom code fragments requires that you do some adjusting (i.e. changing the id #'s,
owner's name, site name and mailto link.) |
|
| 5) Some members may choose to create their own custom version of the Borzoi
Lovers Webring code. This is perfectly acceptable as long as the essential code elements
remain intact. (i.e. all links, id #'s, etc.) Graphics can be reduced, or replaced
as long as the words "Borzoi Lovers Webring" appear on the main
graphic. The display can be customized as well, but you may want to take a look at
the "Graphics & Code" area where you will find many variations
of graphic and code combinations. All custom codes and graphics are subject to the
approval of the ringmaster. |
|
| 6) All sites submitted to the Borzoi Lovers Webring are automatically placed
in the queue. You then must place the code of your liking, make sure that it displays
and works correctly, and then notify the ringmaster
that you are ready to be added to the ring. The ringmaster is automatically notified
every time a site is added to the queue and makes every effort to check out sites
regularly to see if they are ready to be added. Since the ringmaster may be too busy
to check out your site, it is best to notify him when you are ready to ensure your
addition to the ring. There is no time limit for stays in the queue. |
|
| 7) Submitted sites (in the queue) that fail to follow the "Rules of
the Ring" will not be added. Failure to follow these rules by sites already
in the ring will be grounds for immediate removal from the ring, and resubmission
will then be required for reconsideration of membership renewal in the Borzoi Lovers
Webring. It will be assumed by the ringmaster that these rules have been read by
members of the ring and by all submitters prior to submission. Any violation of the
rules will not be tolerated. |
|
| 8) No dog merchandise sites will be accepted to the Borzoi Lovers Webring
unless they sell Borzoi-related products only. (Dog merchandise sites that cater
to many different breeds are better suited for one of the many general dog rings
available.) |
