THE ASSYRIAN SCREEN SAVER
Version 3.0

Screen Saver D'Ashuree

The NEW Assyrian screen saver Version 3.0

Now 73 rare and beautiful images
2/23/2000

Download images again if you've had the screen saver before the above date. Delete the C:\ASSYRIAN\IMAGES directory. Then double-click disk1.exe, disk2.exe, disk3.exe, disk4.exe, and disk5.exe from file manager or windows explorer. The directory will be recreated.

The Assyrian screen saver is here. There is no animation. It is a collection of Assyrian art, reliefs, paintings (including most of the paintings from the SOORGAADAA (calendar) that have been scanned in piece by piece and then assembled). There are 73 images with the TUSHEETAA (history) of each image on top (as much as I can fit in the max 63 characters). The program is the best screen saver I have seen that handles images. It blends each one in wonderfully. It also has many options. NOTE: Images are formatted in the screen resolution 800 x 600. It is highly suggested to run your system in this mode. You can use the standard 640x480 but it won't be perfect. Consult your owners manual to set your video for this resolution. You would want this resolution anyway since it provides 30% more room on your screen. That means you have more room to work and play with. A lot of internet pages are set in this format. My two pages ( Songs of Assyria and Learning Assyrian (Syriac-Aramaic) Online) are formatted and best viewed in this resolution.

The screen saver takes very little resources. 2 megs hard drive space for the program and 6.5 megs hard drive space for the images. Each image loaded is around 100k in memory. The question of space and resources is not an issue.

To download this free program, just click on the disks below.

If you want to share the program with others, copy each image file to an ERROR-FREE diskette. If even one error is on the disk, the program will crash because on image file is corrupt. Make sure you format the disks, even if it is pre-formatted, before copying the files.
Suggested settings.
