Welcome to the only Herculoids page on the web!  There are some other sites with Herculoids information, but this is the only page dedicated to this circa 60s show.  I think....

Voices:  Mike Road as the voices of Zandor, Zok, and Igoo

              Virginia Gregg as the voice of Tara

              Tod Eckes as the voice of Dorno

              Don Messick as the voices of Gleep and Gloop

Plot:  The Herculoids (Zandor, Dorno, Tara, Gleep, Gloop, Igoo, and Zok) are the defenders of their planet which is               called Quasar.  They are usually defending this planet from an enemy with some kind of ray (Hanna-Barbera                     seemed to be fond of various rays as weapons in the 60s,  i.e. Birdman), or some kind of mechanized attacker that   will do the real enemy's bidding.  Gleep, Gloop, Igoo, and Zok usually end up saving the day in each episode.

The Characters

Zandor:  Leader of the Herculoids, and father of Darno.  Comes equipped with a shield and slingshot to ward off the attacking forces.  Zandor wears some kind of Miss America crown on his head in the show which gives him a not so manly appearance, but don't be mistaken he can kick butt!  

Darno:  The small version of Zandor, and son of Zandor and Tara.  Working on finding more info.  

Tara:  The only female and mother of Darno.  Tara is usually being kidnapped by the evil forces which plague the Herculoids.

Igoo:  This guy is a cross between bigfoot and the Thing in Fantastic Four.  I don't know what he is made of, but it appears to be rock or something.  His weapon of choice is brute strength and whatever boulder  or log happens to be nearby. Click on Igoo to hear him yell.

Zok:  The dragon Herculoid who can shoot energy bolts out of his tail and eyes to devastate whatever target he may be aiming at.  Zok can also fly and often carries one or more of the humans on his back when doing so.  Click on Zok to hear his energy rays fire.

Gleep and Gloop:  Two living masses of some kind of substance resembling Silly Putty.  They can stretch and bend into almost any shape imaginable.  They can also use their bodies to shield the human Herculoids from harm, which they often do.  Gleep and Gloop communicate with each other via some really cool muttering sounds.  Still looking for a sound file for these two guys which are probably my favorite characters.

Thundro:  Some kind of armored rhinocerous.  This guy launches "energy rocks" out of the horn on his head which explode upon impact.  He can also extend his legs to create sort of an elevator effect with his body.  Click on Thundro to hear him lauch his energy rocks.
