Rutha T. Click Weaver Hobaugh Hanney, born 24 Feb 1832 Cocke Co. Tennessee died 13 Mar 1902 Cleveland Co. Oklahoma, is the 2nd great grandmother of Charles Owen Hobaugh, the astronaut. Thanks to James Michael Click (3rd great grandson) of California for finding the Bible treasures in his grandmother's closet, that helped us build this part of the family of the children of Frederick Weaver and Rutha T. Click. Ruth is buried in the Maguire Fairview Cemetery, Cleveland Co. Oklahoma.

Rutha T. Click lst married Frederick Weaver 24 Jan 1850 in Newport, Cocke Co. Tennessee. They subsequently moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where Frederick died 10 Jan 1875 and is buried in the Temperance Hill Cemetery, Benton Co. Arkansas. After his death, Rutha married NELSON HOBAUGH 30 Jan 1877 Benton Co. Arkansas. By 1880 they had moved their family to Collin Co. Texas. Nelson had been married twice before marrying Ruth and had children by both marriages. Nelson's son, Charles Marion Hobaugh married the dtr of Rutha Click & Frederick Weaver, Sarah Woodley Weaver 1885 in Texas. Nelson died 22 Feb 1889 but we're not exactly certain where he died. Rutha applied for his Civil War pension in Oklahoma, so assume that is where he died, but as yet haven't found any burial records.

Rutha then married 23 Dec 1896 Harmon? HANNEY. These marriages are recorded in the family bible records of Rutha & Frederick Weaver's daughter, Mary Catherine Weaver Allen Click, which were found by James Michael Click of California.

NOBLE RITES FOR PIONEER - Cherokee Strip Settler Dies Here

Services for Charley Marion Hobaugh, 95, of 1033 N. College Ave., who settled part of Oklahoma Territory in 1877, will be held Wednesday at Noble.

Hobaugh, who herded cattle and sheep at the age of 10 in the Cherokee Strip and who settled near Noble when Oklahoma was opened for homesteading in 1889, died Monday in Tulsa.

A native of Davis (Daviess) County, Missouri, Hobaugh's mother died when he was 4. He left home when he was 10 and worked as a cowhand and sheep herder south of Arkansas City, Kansas.

Hobaugh came to Tulsa in 1928 from Claremore, where he had lived 10 years. At Noble, he operated a general merchandise store, grain elevator and cotton gin before moving to Claremore.

In Tulsa, he sold real estate, operated a restaurant at 1515 E. Admiral Blvd., and operated an apartment house until he retired in 1943.

Surviving are the widow, Alice; seven sons; Lawrence Hobaugh, Norman; Ed and Bill Hobaugh, Claremore, Charley Hobaugh, Jr., Noble; Stacy Hobaugh, Hesperia, California; John Hobaugh, Ozona, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Stella Eskew, Barnsdall; Mrs. Ruby Humphrey and Mrs. Elsie Patterson, Bartlesville; Mrs. Ruth Lee, Hollywood, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

The Fitzgerald Funeral Home here has sent the body to the Primrose Funeral Home, Norman

SIX-SHOOTER MADE FOLKS "FEEL BETTER"

A true Oklahoma pioneer, who can remember the day when a six-shooter wasn't an absolute necessity, "but it made you feel better," turned 90 years old today.

C. M. Hobaugh, who probably has held more types of jobs than any other Tulsan, spent his birthday quietly at his home, 1033 N. College Ave. The real celebration was last weekend, when 34 of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren gathered at his home for dinner.

Hobaugh, who made the 1889 Oklahoma run, left his Missouri home at the age of 10 and took a job herding cattle in Oklahoma's Cherokee strip.

Besides working as a cowboy, he has been a sheepherder, woodsman, farmer, general merchandise store operator, railroad worker, real estate salesman, restaurant operator, livery stable operator, and cab driver.

Hobaugh, who is in good health except for the rheumatism in his legs, continues to work in the vegetable garden at his home. He has lived in Tulsa since 1928.

He has 11 living children, 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren
