Back in November 1995, a merchant set up a tent in Wehnimer's Landing and customed engraved pins for people who made his list. I managed to secure one of the last spots, and over the next five hours, I chose the symbolism I felt would best represent a dashing, romantic bard:
juxtaposed with A Rose, to represent beauty and love, summarized by the motto: "Love Conquers All."

Another alterer named Demotikus arrived a few months later with his winged cat, and after several hours of waiting on his list, I was forced offline by an emergency building evacuation. By the time I managed to get a shaky connection two hours later, he was finishing with his last customer and graciously decorated my shield as he left for the evening. The imagery is expanded, and it's my most prized possession in the lands. It also appears to be widely-recognized among other players, based on the comments I've received at gatherings.
