Maryann Rainwater b. @ 1768 Granville/Surry co,NC; married Burrell Perry NC or, possibly, Ga. He was b. @ 1764 Franklin co,NC& enumerated there in 1790 census. They migrated through Ga to Hancock co,Ms ( now Pearl River ) & St.Tammany/Washington parish,La & to Washington co,Tx where their son, Richardson Rainwater, died in the Alamo 1836. Burrell Perry married in Washington co,Tx to Jane Batts even though Maryann was still living; he died there in 1848. ( Maryann had returned to La/Ms with some of her children & Burrell remained in Tx with other of their children. She's enumerated in 1850 Hancock co,Ms. census.) I think she's daughter of James Rainwater but need verification she is the daughter named in his Surry co,NC will. In La. Burrell ( also Burwell ) Perry owned land with Newsome Rainwater whose relationship to Maryann is unknown at this time. Newsome & another Rainwater man were enumerated 1805 in Jackson co, Ga & then La with Burrell & Maryann. Any information regarding Maryann's parents will be greatfully appreciated & I'll share whatever info I have in return. If I could identify Newsome Rainwater it would help to identify Maryann as well, as they must certainly be related. Thanks!!

Help! James Rainwater, b. 1736 m. 1805 in Surry Co. NC to a Catherine A. Reagan. One source gave her as the dau of Timothy Reagan and Elizabeth Trigg. The Reagan genealogies say that their Catherine m. someone else, beside, the dates are too late. Catherine Reagan Rainwater has to come from that family somewhere. Both families share the family names and seemed to have intermarried with the Emert family. I suspect Catherine to belong to Timothy Reagan, son of Tim. and Eliz., who married a Nelson. Can anyone help my confusion? Thanks.
