The Justice League International Paris HQ

(...also politely known as Justice League Europe!)
Much like at the main Monitor Room, we're still getting moved in here at the Paris
Embassy...but things arent so disorganized that we can't get moving forward! Things
are always interesting in Europe, especially as of late, with the divorce of Charles
and Diana. We here at the Justice League feel that its all sort of unfortunate, that...
despite the fact that Charles lacks charm.
Anyway, onto business. Here at the Justice League Europe site, fan support for the now
cancelled Justice League Europe will be provided. In other words, there should be a copious
timeline of the book, with plot synopses, at some point in the near future.
Since the European team is firmly rooted in the goings on of Europe, I feel that its tres important to
provide links, and info on European celebrities....whether or not they are of Super Heroic proportions
or not. As it is, for putting up with Prince Charles for as long as she did, Di demonstrated a level
of endurance that would make Power Girl green with envy! So with no further ado, lets list the European
Monitor Room's Links for Lady Di...

Princess Diana of Wales Sites
- The (unauthorized) Princess Diana Page!
This page is full of wonderful links, images, and content...much applause for the webmaster who created
the page.
- Princess Diana! This unpretentiously
titled pair of pages has a large number of truly flattering photos of the Princess of Wales, arranged in
an image gallery.
- The Diana Years... A
well done presentation, briefly outlining the broad strokes of Diana's marriage to Charles, and time as
Her Royal Highness, Princess of Wales. Presented by People Magazine...!
- RoyalNet... A sarcastic and witty look at the Royal Family,
in all its sordid modern glory. Featured currently is an aricle entitled Free Willy, about Prince William...
so if you've got a sense of humor about the Royal Family, check out this site!
Despite having the coveted title (Her Royal Highness) stripped from her use as a result of the divorce,
the Princess of Wales has vowed to remain in the public eye. Diana claimed in press conferences that she
will maintain her high profile in the media, much to the chagrin of the Royal Family. We here at the League wish
Di the best of luck!
A Brief History of the Justice League in Europe...
Much like the material on the Main Monitor Room page of the JLI, this timeline is under construction, and
will be continually modified to better aid the visiting Super Hero! Thank you for your courtesy!
- 1987: The League is sanctioned by the UN, becoming the Justice League International.
- December, 1987: The League moves into embassies in New York, Paris, and the former Soviet Union.
- April, 1988: Maxwell Lord is finally revealed. Green Flame and Ice Maiden, later called Fire and
Ice, make a bid for League membership, coming from the Global Guardians. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle drool
over them.
- July, 1988: Mr. Miracle kidnapped by Manga Khan for barter with Apokolips. A poorly constructed android is
left in his place. Unfortunately, the obvious robot decieves the League for a while...
- August 1988: The team goes undercover in Bialya, only to discover Queen Bee taking control of the nation,
with the aid of some of the former Global Guardians. Batman saves the whole team. (Go figure!)
- October, 1988: Manga Khan hires the Czarnian Lobo to attack the League. Big Barda defeats him by randomly
teleporting him with her Mega-Rod...not wanting to be interrupted in her search for Mr. Miracle. Lobo appears,
with considerable momentum, in the New York Embassy, and strikes Guy Gardner in the head...restoring his
personality to "normal". A tragic day for feminists everywhere...(JLI #18)
- November, 1988: Black Canary officially resigns.
- December, 1988: Rocket Red's armor is ruined on the planet of evil, Apokolips...Big Barda replaces it
with a suit that is passable by her standards...and a warehouse of armageddon technology to Earth standards.
- 1989: The Team, aided by Barda, frees Mr. Miracle, from the planet Apokolips. Darkseid the Destroyer returns
the team to Earth.
- Later in 1989: Oberon, Miracle's talent agent, defeats a commando unit of inch tall aliens, using only Blue
Beetle's flash gun, and a hammer (ewww!)
- January 1989: Justice League Europe is officially founded...to be stationed indefinitelyin the Paris
facility. The roster: Captain Atom, Elongated Man, the Flash(Wally West), Metamorpho, Animal Man, Power Girl, and Rocket
Red. Hawkman and Hawkwoman quit.
- May 1989: Controlled by the Queen Bee, former Global Guardians attack the JLEurope
- May 1989: Hypnotized via the telephone, Blue Beetle attempts to kill Maxwell Lord. Sure, Max is grating...
But thats a bit much.
- July 1989:Guy Gardner and Ice confront the Black Hand, with a guest appearance by Big Barda!
- August 1989: Kent Nelson(sometimes Doctor Fate) removes Beetle, Booster, and Fire's mind blocks...thus
preventing future pesky phone induced assasinations!
- 1989: A tour of all the JLI Embassy HQ's plus the Island of Kooeykooeykooey.
- September 1989: Justice League Europe, and the Injustice League register for the same Beginning French
Class! The Crimson Fox's first appearance! (JLE #6)
This chronology, as is the main Chronology, under construction. Please feel free to criticize, or suggest
improvements. There is going to be some duplication from document to document...I feel it is unaviodable,
given that some fans would not wish to cross reference from page to page. Convenience, true believer!

Catherine Cobert, the League's Paris Operations Manager, says its...
Back to School!
That's right, true believers! If you paid close attention to the timeline, the Justice League Europe
encountered the Injustice League at a beginning French class...proof that even super heroes need to
expand their horizons, and can have adventures doing it. Also...the team wound up taking French lessons
to try and make up for their prior, stereotypical American Abroad style behavior. So avoid these potential
super faux pas...and attend Catherine Cobert's Classes in Culture, right here at the Paris Embassy!
- Learn French! ...or at least start. Not
only does it allow you to communicate more directly with the lovely Miss Cobert...but it also lets you make
heads or tails of dessert menus, and appear more cultured than you are. Booster and Beetle insist that it
impresses women...but since THEY dont impress women, their judgement is questionable!
Welcome to the European Sports News Zone!
That's right, heroes....baseball just isnt on the telly in Europe, and all kinds of other,
interesting sporting events can be found. Here are a bunch of links to info resources on some
of the european sports that I am intersted in, follow, or...dare I admit? Yes, I actually play
some of them. Egad! So tally no longer...every superhero knows that physical fitness is urgent
in the never ending battle for truth, justice, and Mom's apple pie-- even Blue Beetle stays in
shape! No reason not to have some fun doing it.
- The American Fencing Magazine Homepage! Yes, this
is the online resource that supports the magazine of the USFA, or United States Fencing Assosciation.
Since I personally fence almost every day of the week, and train real hard, this link is of MAJOR importance!
Featured in the magazine, often, are articles by my coach, Mike D'Asaro...who is a former Olympian, and
total god at fencing, incidentally. Go to this well maintained site for information about a sport that
is one of the 21 original Olympic Sports, but is in real danger of dying out. Your support is appreciated!
- Rugby News Today! Wow...Rugby. I've only played Rugby once or
twice, while at University...but to me, its a pretty cool sport. This site has an incredible wealth of
Rugby information, and a user friendly format. News and standings from Rugby in Europe are here, and an
FAQ for the uninitiated!
- Cricket World Online! Cricket is the forerunner of the
American Pastime, Good ol' Yankee Baseball...again, I have only played the game once or twice. Abroad,
cricket is an important and exciting game...for those who havent seen it, or dont know the rules, check out the
FAQ that will be coming soon.
- La Corrida de Toros...Bullfighting. When I was in
Madrid, I learned that bullfighting, or La Corrida de Toros, en espanol...is a very important part of the
history and tradition of the spanish people. Contrary to stereotypes of a matador waving a red flag at a bull,
the bullfight is in fact a complex and highly structured event, with concrete ways to judge a matador's skills.
The site referenced here has a large number of links to other resources...a good place to start learning about
La Corrida, mis Amigos! Incidentally...despite having been to some bullfights, and spoken to some matadors...
sadly I haven't tried this yet! Apparently, the training is rigorous...before you even SEE el Toro!
This area of JLEurope is still expanding...look here for more links, info, and other cool stuff related to
European sports!
Help heroes in need! Save the Sailor Scouts!
It was hard to know where to put this link and important bit of data, and
since DIC, the animation firm that produces Sailor Moon for the US Market is French, I chose Justice
League Europe. The Sailor Scouts are being cancelled, due to a complex and hard to grasp
machination by Disney. Since The Scouts are cool super heroes in need, and Euro Disney is
unilaterally hated by the French, it seemed as good as any. At some point, I hope to have a
"Justice League Signal Device Page"...with links, and pages, about non-League heroes and stuff...but
that doesn't exist yet. So...as the first official mission of the Justice League Europe Online,
I strongly advise you to rush to
the Save Our Sailors Online Campaign!
The coolness of the Sailor Scouts should be obvious...since they are the ONLY non-Justice League
artwork to grace these pages. The offbeat take on superheroes that is presented by the show, in
a sarcastic, lighthearted fashion is too cool to ignore in a world of comics and animation becoming
overwhelmed by plotless, witless violence. In their own way, this show supports the same ideas that
the JLI did in the post-Crisis revamp. Thanks for the time to consider lending your voice, to
preserve this unique and original show.
Besides...Booster Gold and Blue Beetle think the Sailor Scouts are cute...even if they are a little
young!
Good Luck, Sailor Moon!

Booster Gold and Blue Beetle's guide to Paris
...or at least decent french food, and cool ways to loaf around!
The inherent problem with channeling Blue Beetle and Booster Gold's active social lives into the JLE
page, is simply that the administrator (me) has never been to Paris. That kind of puts the
kibosh on the whole thing...if you think small. Since the pages here are administrated from Los
Angeles, Beetle and Booster will simply be giving out advice on how to pretend you are living a
carefree, Parisian lifestle, right here in smog-infested LA. But hey...the smog's good for you...
its dangerous enough to give you super powers if you are exposed to it for a while.
First off, there has to be a guide to faking the food factor of Paris. Since this area is new, we
havent had time to try any of these restaurants yet...but their URL's are linked here. Given how
much Slacker Lass, Leper Lad, and I love to eat, clearly reviews of these restaurants will be posted,
complete with our criteria and rating scale. With no further ado...
French Restaurants in Los Angeles
Also...we love the Third Street Promenade, which Gordon tells us is very Parisian, with its little cafes
with tables on the street, various street performers, and little shops. He also says that Paris is actually
littered with beautiful women, and in his own words, "just plain better". Oh well. We still love the
Promenade, and frequently use it to sit around, loaf, and attempting to do pretty much the same thing that
Booster and Beetle are in their photo. If you need information about the Promenade
go to their site, which is a very nice site indeed. (Golf clap, everyone!)
Well you know...Booster and Beetle are actually looking for women in the above shot, and stupefied by the
uber-radness of Catherine Cobert in the one to the right. Leper Lad and myself (and even Slacker Lass at times)
suffer from this dilemma commonly...and even now, Leper Lad, a brilliant computer programmer, seeks to
answer that most complex of riddles: "Where do you go to meet people?" I personally believe that time will end
before anyone solves this weighty dilemma...but foolishly, we will try to answer these questions here, by posting
cool sites beside the Promenade, and cool things to do. More often than not, if you're doing something cool enough,
you wind up just blundering into people who are cool.
At least, thats the general idea. You'd be suprised at how hard it is, on occasion, to
just find something cool to do on a Friday night, even in a city like Los Angeles. I think that's why so called
"male bonding" is always both cheap, and something you could do at home. That way, the burden of appearing cool is
mitigated, since youre in your own place, and dont have to worry. Unfortunately, the flip side of staying in with
all your team-mates, and doing something like playing Magic: the Gathering, or vegging for hours with Super Nintendo's
Justice League Task Force, is that there is no chance of simply "bumping into" that all important significant other.
Slacker Lass should support Leper Lad's quest for a Lois Lane figure in his life...since weekends sitting around the HQ with pizza and
Magic: the Gathering (which she hates unilaterally) will decline. All this, to give Leper Lad the opportunity to pull
a Booster Gold, and make a stooge of himself when he "bumps into" some uber-rad, uber-cool girl. Like Blue Beetle,
we'll be there to laugh when he chokes, and post here if he does. I guess that sort of weird, vicious comraderie is
what the Justice League is all about. For now, with no new quests pending, let's just chuckle over the graphic to the
left, of Booster Gold feeling stupid and nervous around Catherine Cobert...pretty much how most fellas feel.
This weekend, we are getting organized for power Rollerblading,
down at the beach, and the Promenade! Rollerblading is invariably cool, and all it takes to look cool is practice,
so you dont appear to be constantly struggling. If you are a beginner, wanting to get new stuff, and enjoy one of our
fave pastimes, or an experienced Skate-Lord, check out this informative link, which is not too graphic heavy to bear (a
potential difference from this page...)
