Explore the Brain
Brain consists of three main parts: 1. cerebrum (most of the brain
substance- involved in thinking, speech, emotions, memory, movement, sensation,
vision)- here it is shown in yellow;
2. brainstem- this is the attachment to the cerebrum or a "stem"
for the brain, it contains compact structures, tracts of fibers to connect
cerebrum to the spinal cord , vital functions (respiration, blood pressure,
pulse), level of consciousness- here its is shown in brownish-yellow; 3.
cerebellum- attached to the back of the brainstem and involved in
coordination of functions- here shown in blue. In addition to these parts
there are several cranial nerves, fluid spaces (ventricles) and blood vessels
in and around the brain.
