Loyalsock Trail

These picture were taken while backpacking section seven of the Loyalsock Trail. This section, which goes from World's end State Park to Sones Pond is 7.5 miles one way and takes approximately 6.5 hours. The elevation range for this section is from 1105' to 1900'. The Loyalsock is blazed with red can lids with a yellow LT on them, or a yellow paint blaze with a red horizontal srtipe. Maps and a guide book can be obtained from The Alpine Club of Williamsport, or at World's End State Park.

The best part of this trip was that this was the first backpacking trip my two nephews ever took. We backpacked about four miles to Alpine Falls and camped near the falls. The next day we dayhiked to Sones Pond and back and did a little bushwacking around camp. We spent two nights on the trail and had a lot of fun.
