Description of Firm
Introduction
Organized in 1980, Most Horowitz & Company, LLP is an experienced Certified Public Accounting firm dedicated to providing the highest quality auditing, accounting, tax and consulting services to its clients. Located in New York City, the firm includes five partners and approximately twenty-five professional staff.
We believe in a philosophy of personalized service which means, among other things, that the responsibility of each client is assigned to both a partner and a staff accountant. The size of our firm allows us to maintain these personalized relationships with our clients. We recognize that our most important product is prompt and effective service of the highest quality. All our efforts are directed towards achieving this goal. Our staff brings to their profession a dedication of service to client needs and a philosophy of excellence in professional endeavors which have been acquired and maintained through education and practical experience.
Professional Staff
Our partners are all Certified Public Accountants and predominately former Big 5 or national firm partner/employees. One partner and one manager are also attorneys with LLM degrees in taxation and our tax partners have master degrees in taxation. Several of our partners also have the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' "Certificates of Educational Achievement" in personal financial planning and business valuations. One partner is also accredited as a Personal Financial Specialist by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The New York State Society of CPA's and the AICPA'S Securities and Exchange Commission Practice Section. Our partners and staff have served on numerous professional committees of the New York State Society of CPA's. Our partners have conducted professional seminars and have had articles published in various professional journals. We have completed our most recent professional periodic peer review administered by the AICPA'S SEC Practice Section, without comment.
Our professionals are supported by an efficient support staff. We are also supported by a complete accounting and tax library, computerized accounting and tax research systems and state-of-the-art accounting and tax software. These services allow us to be current on the most recent developments and bring the highest level of skills available to serve our clients.
Areas of Practice
We provide a variety of services including audit, review and compilation of financial statements, business management, attestations, tax preparation, constructive and creative tax, estate and financial planning, forensic accounting (investigative/due diligence), litigation support, computer consultation, business valuation and management advisory services. We have special expertise in public and private securities offerings, family business relationships, investment analysis, development stage companies and all aspects of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions. We also assist clients in connection with structuring and obtaining equity and debt financing and implementation of complete accounting systems.
We represent a variety of clients in many diversified industries including manufacturing, technology, retail, printing/graphic arts, research and development, communications, health services, wholesale/distribution, professional services, hospitality, real estate, construction, investments, apparel, entertainment, insurance agency/brokerage, licensing, publishing, architecture and not-for-profit, among others, as well as high net worth individuals.
Our clients include small to large business entities, both public and privately held, as well as their shareholders and executives. The firm is extensively engaged in general counseling for its business clients and their owners on day to day business issues.
