Farewell Message

In 1968, four enthusiastic World’s Fair enthusiasts got together and formed the World’s Fair Collectors Society.  They were, alphabetically, Ed Orth, Mike Pender, Peter Warner and Ernest Weidhass.  For the past 38 years the FAIR NEWS has been a way that members of the WFCS could be brought up to date on the activities relating to World’s Fair throughout the world.  During this period of time we have had 2839 people join the Society at one time or another.

During the majority of time Mr. Pender has served as editor of FAIR NEWS (ably assisted by his very proficient wife, Fran).  It is now time for Mr. Pender to retire from this very time consuming task.

We want to thank all of the people who have been members of WFCS for their dedicated interest and for the never ending flow of material which has been used to keep the membership up to date.  At the moment we know of only two World Expositions on the calendar for upcoming years.  These are Expo 2008 in Zargoza, Spain and Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
