Bacchus Jihad Home Page

Welcome to the Bacchus Jihad Home Page

Bacchus Jihad is a band out of Grand Rapids, MI. Their style is techno/industrial/electronic/cyberdelic with influences and sounds from all over the world. Their music spans a variety of subject matter both abstract and clear. Bacchus Jihad consists of synthesist/composer/producer/vocalist John Neil and composer/producer/film-video artist/principle lyricist Liam Racine. They joined creative forces back in 1993 (the 18th of April to be exact), and to this day are still trying to find a place to use that pig/auctioneer sound. I think the flanged sheep "bleat" has been more prevalent.
We have some stuff going on at mp3. Click this now to hear unreleased Bacchus Jihad material including new demos!! www.mp3.com/bacchusjihad. We’re also included on a page of several Michigan bands here - www.mp3.com/michigan99. Our song "Jupiter Days" (from the debut CD) is on that one. Click. John Neil also has his own mp3 site at www.mp3.com/johnneil. Just humor him.

Bacchus Jihad released their self-titled debut CD in the Autumn of 1995.
The guns: Bacchus Jihad in no way promotes nor demotes guns. They’re just on the CD cover. It looked good, so we used it. It’s a thing we call "art". A-r-t.
The name: The name "Bacchus Jihad" really isn’t meant to provoke any established thought. Yes both words mean something, but we are not Islamic wine terrorists. We mean no harm at all. We are a musical group. Understand? M-u-s-I-c-a-l g-r-o-u-p.
What you just read should pretty much answer the extent of our "FAQ" J . If there’s more, the address is below…
