Lend A Hand is a program established in 1989 designed to help the elderly and chronically ill of Boulder City, NV remain in their homes by providing a variety of services by volunteers.

Services include staying with persons needing assistance so that their caregivers can 'take a break' for rest and relaxation or to attend to personal business.

Other services available are helping individuals by running errands, going shopping, driving to medical appointments or by providing companion services in the home. (Our volunteers do not provide home health care or housekeeping services.)

To obtain services, simply call our office number 702 294-2363 and speak with our social worker or leave a message stating your need(s). An initial assessment meeting will be arranged to explain the details of the program.

Services are provided by trained volunteers who are assigned to you at the specific times requested.  Our volunteers have basic knowledge in routine patient care, but their primary function is that of a companion. Geriatric Care Management is provided by a licensed professional social worker.

Clients are asked to contribute an amount that they can afford to help defray the program costs.  The amounts are determined at the time of initial assessment and are adjusted as needed.  No one is denied services because of inability to contribute.  Statements of services rendered are sent out after the end of each month.

The program is incorporated and has tax exempt status. Donations and memorials are appreciated and are tax deductible. They are vital to keep this program going. Every penny goes to paying for client services.
