Dallas,Texas
Dallas, Texas, also know as "Big D", is our home. It is a large, metropolitan, landlocked city with a population of one million people. It is home to the world famous Dallas Cowboys, the Mavericks basketball, the Texas Rangers Baseball, and the Dallas Stars Hockey team, but our favorite pastime is sand sculpting. Unfortunately the nearest beach is a 6 hour drive and the "best" Texas beach, South Padre Island, will require a 9 hour drive. Since we love the feel of sand between our toes and the cool splash of water, we had to create our own beach right here in the city....
Our beach is a 12x14 ft. "adult" sand box. It allows us to practice sand sculpting.
Our ocean is the backyard swimming pool. It helps keep us cool in the hot Texas summers.

Wyland, the environmental artist painted this Whaling Wall #82 April 7-16, 1999 in downtown Dallas. The wall is located on the Texas Utilities building, 505 Akard Street. It is 82 feet high, 164 feet long and 2,000 gallons of paint was used.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Artist, Wyland.
On June 19, 1999, the Dallas Stars Hockey team won the coveted Stanley Cup. Game 6 was in Buffalo, NY against the Sabres. Brett Hull scored the winning goal in triple overtime to give the Stars their first Stanley Cup win. GO STARS!!
March 2000, the Dallas World Aquarium acquired 2 manatees from South America. They were in need of rehabilitation and will be with the aquarium for the next 2 years and then released into the wild. We took the opportunity to view them since there are so few to be seen. The website for the aquarium is: dwazoo.com.
We enjoy riding our 2001 Harley Davidson Road King! It is the perfect way to see all that the great state of Texas has to offer.

We renewed our vows on our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 1997. We credit our success to being best friends and enjoying life together.
