What is a Luckiamute Bee? It's a bee that is fortunate enough to live in the beautiful Luckiamute River (a tributary of the Willamette River) watershed in Western Oregon.

Who is Luckiamute Bee? We're first and foremost, beekeepers. Now that we are a little older (and hopefully a little wiser) we work hard at keeping our operation from expanding beyond 50+ colony operation in Oregon's famous Willamette Valley. (All of you know that one hive leads to two, and your can get twice as much honey from four as two colonies, etc., etc.) Some of you know Ron Bennett, the BIG BEE here at Luckiamute Bee, former Editor of the Western Apiculture Society's Journal as past vice-president of the Oregon State Beekeepers Association, and former editor of the Bee Line newsletter, and Webmaster of the old OSBA WebPages (now beetools). Luckiamute Bee is also involved in long-term research projects with Oregon State University, the USDA, the Klamath economic Redevelopment Agency and others. We were a full service bee supply dealer dedicated to offering the finest bee supplies and accessories at the best possible prices, focusing on organic beekeeping.

What the heck is this beetools? beetools is an all encompassing heading for our communication and education activities. It is the name of our Web Site, our Newsletter, our beekeeping classes, and all of our beekeeping publishing and information services. We welcome you to cruise around our Web Site and solicit your comments and suggestions on how we can make this a better tool for beekeepers and growers.
