. . . is an innovative approach to the learning and the mastering of basic and not-so-basic French...via recent Francophone writings from both cyberspace and the non-digital world of print.

If you have access to Netscape Navigator (3.0 or later version) or Microsoft's 3.02 (or later) IE browser -- and are computing in the Win95 environment -- download FrancoPhil's latest program (FCP2000), which is now available, but first do read on...

The exercises and quiz-like programs -- currently based on recent writings from France and Quebec -- will challenge you and appeal to you, if, as a young or more mature learner, you are eager to understand both the written and spoken(*) aspects of French. Thus FrancoPhil will provide opportunities to write what one hears as well as what one is asked to translate (from English texts that relate to those writings).

FrClozeP
is a
truly
innovative
tutorial
designed
to help
Anglophones
become
bilingual.

The latest "challenge" of FrancoPhil is FrenchClozePlus, a multi-faceted program that makes use of the JavaScript function of the Netscape Navigator or the Microsoft IE. This downloadable FrenchClozePlus collection of files requires only Netscape or IE. After uncompressing fcp2000f.zip and before installing the tutorial on your hard drive (via the installation file: fcp2000f.exe), read the readme.txt and install.txt files to learn how to access and work with FrenchClozePlus.

[ * "spoken", in the sense of a dictation that the user listens to as he or she writes down the corresponding script in French etc. This interesting aspect of FrancoPhil, is currently available. Three audio supplements to FCP2000F (a lite version) and/or FCP2000 (version intégrale) have been available -- since Dec. 10 of 1999 -- to you as freeware. For details see: French-in-a-Box, FrenchWaves and the latest stand-alone interactive audio supplement: FrenMP3.]
