from.Colin Dowling REGENERATION 1 convention october 98 N.Ireland

with the terrible news of mikes passing it is with great pride that I can say I was glad to get to know him as a friend.Michael came to N.Ireland to be a part of regenration (I mean with a convention name like that it would be silly,no stupid for him not to be there with Anneke)anyway he had an absolute blast and I believe that I was the last person to interveiw him about Dr Who while he was alive.A genuine person and a good friend I have never known anyone to say a bad thing about him (apart from he could not stomagh his guinness). From myself Colin Dowling my brother Graeme and my friend Ian Campbell we will all feel his loss in time especially at conventions or the frequent phone calls from him usually complaining about something on T.V that will no longer come.

HERE IS MY TRIBUTE.

Have one on me mate, see you on the green.

The lost of Michael is a lost for DW fans and the world as a whole. I remember he was doing an interview with several other companions including Lis Sladen. The interviewer asked Lis to scream and when Lis looked put off by the request Michael stepped forward and screamed for Lis. Like the gentleman he was he came to the aid of a lady. I only met him once but he was a nice man and I will remember his wit and friendlyness. He was a true gentleman.

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences on his passing to all who knew Michael Craze. I was lucky enough to have the chance to interview Mike at a convention earlier this year, and can honestly say that he was one of the nicest people whom I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I am sure that all our thoughts will be with his son Ben, and the rest of his family, at this difficult time. Michael was a talented actor, and a genuinely nice chap. He will never be forgotten.

Yours faithfully,

Robert A J Newton.

Dear sir,

I was saddened to hear of the tragic death of Michael Craze this week. Though I never met him, in interviews he always came accross as genuine with a good sense of humour. He brought a special amiability to his portrayal of Ben, and with Anneke Wills' Polly remain possibly the most under rated TARDIS team. Hopefully BBC Worldwide will be able to release his remaining episodes on video or CD in the coming months. Please forward my sincere condolences to his family.

Yours sincerely,

Gareth Humphreys

Thanks for doing the Michael Craze page. We heard on Tuesday evening about his death & are still shocked & upset. That song 'Ben' keeps going through my head...

Nik met him several times at conventions & had drinks with him & found him a lovely man.

I never met him, but received 2 signed photos from him. I also wrote & asked him if he could send my friend a birthday card, as he was a huge fan of Michael. He did & a signed photo, which I thought was a very kind gesture.

He will be sadly missed.

Michael will be dearly missed. I cried when I heard of his passing. He and I are only 21 days apart in age.

I'll miss you Michael.

Just a quick note to let you know that Mike's furneral was very nice. If you would like to know more I will answer any questions I feel I can /should.

I printed some of your sight for the family and they were most pleased by it. They felt you had done an excelent job handling such sad news, without allowing others to intrude into their private space. Ben esp. liked some of the background information you offered. I thought you'd like to know. They even asked that I send on more from your sight in the furture if new items were added.

Cheers,

Vivian

Please pass on my condolences to the family of Michael Craze. Although many of his Dr. Who performances no longer exist, what we have left show a sensitive and capable actor, who was sadly underused after his time on the programme.

I was shocked to hear about the recent death of Michael Craze, having been recovering from the death of my wife of 5 months and my daughter, both to illnesses. I liked his stories and I liked the War Machines best..
