You helped me some time back by e-mailing information about stalking
and how to deal with a stalker. I stored the information in my head but had to wait to find the opportunity to use it. Only yesterday did I finally get the opportunity to confront my stalker and tell him, using your advice, that there is no future in his pursuing me. Whether he will continue is up to him! AlI I know is that for the first time in around a year I am free from fear of this guy, and that's a cause for celebration. It has been like an invasion in my life for all this time. So thanks very much! |

IDENTIFYING TRAITS There is no single profile for each and every stalker. The stalker could be anyone from an ex-husband to a member of law enforcement. However there are certain personality traits that they generally share, as well as certain actions according to leading sources. 1. Will not take no for an answer, when attempting to pursue a relationship. Cannot handle rejection. 2. Obsessive behavior, always wanting to be in control. 3. Lack of core identity, resulting in a overwhelming desire to attach themselves to others in order to validate their "self worth." 4. Above average intelligence. Will often spend enormous amounts of time and research to attain their objective. 5. Sociopathic thinking. Has difficulty seeing how their actions affect others. Turns a deaf ear to "cries" for an end to their behavior. 6. Outcast, loner, has difficulty developing close friendships, and retaining the ones they have. 7. Aggressive behavior, temperamental, unreasonable. 8. Previous history of stalking. Many are serial stalkers, moving from one victim to another throughout their lives. |
