Bubblegum Crisis Post 2040 FilesContinuation Fanfic Seriesby P. Kristen Enos
SPOILERS WARNING!!!Most of these stories take place AFTER the "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040" TV Series! So DON'T blame me if I ruin the ending for you because you read these stories first! This fanfic series is independent of any events in the pending "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2041" anime sequel (and other subsequent works.) Lesbian/Yuri/Shoujo Ai Warning! (Non-explicit -- at least in the "PG13"/"R" sort of way.) Just not written for children because they probably wouldn't get half of it. All rights belong to JVC/AIC, ADV Films and the other creative powers that be. I just want credit for writing the story.
- Current Kristen Comments -Comments as of June 30 This is a special update for those folks (and you know who you are) that have been waiting for my looong-promised Linna analysis. It's raw, it's unedited, but I'm damn tired of looking at it. And it's long, with a lot more information than you thought could be possible on the subject. Linna: Manless by Circumstance or by Choice?
Comments as of May 12 Yes, the end has come! It took over two years but I was finally able to finish the series on a comfortable note. Now, we'll just have to see what differences (and similarities?) the sequel 2041 anime will hold for us. The only addition I plan to add to this site is the long awaited Linna analysis. (A review of BGC 2040 and general lesbian analysis will be done on my other anime site.) Otherwise, much thanks for reading! I hope to notice your presence at my other sites!
Special Comment on March 15 Okay, it's now official! I have finally launched the new web home for my original scifi series: http://hometown.aol.com/mactouniverse The introduction short story is posted as well as what else to expect from me fiction-wise. It even has its own egroup for notifications and discussions! All future communications about the series will be over there -- to spare you hard-core BGC people.
Comments as of March 1 Aaauugghh! I can't believe it's been two and half months since I last updated this site!!! And this is really pathetic since there are only about 6 or 7 chapters left in "The Real Me." I'm sooo embarrassed! Well, I am now on a very much needed vacation during the next week and plan to crank out a lot of material (like hopefully the rest of the story) -- especially since I'm staying in the home of a friend/fan who has no problems with bugging me about progress. At the very least, I am targetting to wrap up "RM" by the end of April at the latest. Plus, with my lack of writer's enthusiasm for the series as a sign that I need to move on creatively from this fanfic, I finally came up with a suitable epilogue to "RM" that could also serve as the ending for my run on Post 2040 -- but like the 2040 anime, always leaves room for a sequel of some sort (which had been my intention all along.) Also, if you're an interested soul: I will be launching the new website for my original scifi series (called "The Macto Reports") by the end of the month as well! Stay tuned...
(Special) Comments as of Nov. 2 Okay, Folks, we have now launched Part 5 of the immensely popular story "The Real Me". Only one chapter this time while I try a weekly posting schedule that I had used in Part 4. Now, I know I announced "RM" would be my last Post 2040 story based on the news of the "in production" BGC Tokyo 2041 anime. Well, because Part 5 was supposed to be the last part of "RM", I've decided to stick to that plan and leave the story as originally designed instead of extending it out to address the lingering plots I had proposed for the final three stories. So does this mean I'm going to go forward with writing the final three stories as originally planned as well? Yes and no. I gagged when I realized that "RM" will take me over a year to write, with its first posting in November of 2001. I am not willing to commit a year (or more) of having Post 2040 stories being my creative writing priority, especially when I'm trying to launch an original scifi series. I WILL commit to finishing any story I start, but I won't commit to writing all three final stories at this time. And the writing/posting schedule will probably be VERY slow -- thus testing the commitment of myself, betas and readers. But BGC is all about having a wild ride into the unknown, so I'm thinking this is on par for the series.
* Special Announcements * (as of 9/23/02) The final chapter for Part 4 (chapter 47) has now been posted and I'm officially on my hiatus from the series. If you haven't been paying attention to the eGroup, it's been recently announced that ADV is offering a license for an "active production" of "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2041", a sequel to our beloved anime. With that news, I am both thrilled and saddened to announce this means that "The Real Me" will be the last story I will write for the "Post 2040" universe. (And I WILL do the Linna analysis... some day.) However, I am already developing a new original new futuristic scifi universe where I can sink my creative teeth into! More announcements to come!

- Story Postings -File #1: Dominant Species - Completed novel-length saga which takes place three years after the events of the TV series. New faces that are hauntingly familiar. A new Genom. New boomer threats. Return of the Knight Sabers. And romantic drama everywhere. File #2: Achilles' Heel [Complete - Posted 10/28/01] - Yoshiko the Yakuza (from "Dominant" Chapter 33: Power Games) has the spotlight in this short story that explains her connection to Mei of the first Knight Sabers team. It's not coincidental that she's a lot like Classic Sylia! Will be featured character in future saga "Web of Lives" (which is still a bit down the road.) File #3: Heart's Desire [Complete - Posted 10/30/01] - Linna/Reika fans, be careful of what you wish for! This EXTREMELY short one is for you. Warning: A touch more sexual content than usual. File #4: Old Dogs [Complete - Posted 11/2/01] - Sergeant Jeena Malso starts to realize just how much of a headache commanding the NeoTech Crimes Combat Unit is turning out to be. However, she's not willing to go down without a fight. And on top of that, she's not going to go down alone! File #6: World On A String [Complete - Posted 1/7/02] - The special summer when things changed for a teenage Sylia and Reika in big and little ways. (I know the file numbering is out of order but I realized to truly enjoy a particular chapter in "The Real Me", you do need to read this short story first.) File #5: The Real Me [Complete - Posted 5/12/03] - Second saga length story, originally inspired by Classic BGC's "Scoop Chase" but turning out to have a lot of elements from the old series thrown in as well as some new ideas. A "private lives" story where each Knight Saber wrestle with personal issues and complications while also trying to carry out their duties. Expect a much more experimental approach as a therapeutic writer's break from the more serious "Dominant" and upcoming "Web." Don't expect life-or-death action or overarching conspiracies! (Okay, I've changed my mind on this last sentence.)
- Special Supplements -Original Author's Introduction - The why I started this series and what to expect from me. (Part of the Site History page.) 2040 Anime Character Analyses:In Search of Priss [Revised Oct 1, '01] - A must-read for anyone who wondered where my brain was at with my interpretation of her characterization for the fanfic universe Linna: Manless by Circumstance or by Choice? [Posted June 30, '03]- I actually had fun with this one as I tried to look at our Ms. Yamazaki from several different angles. Be Warned: It's long!
