Our Ruch family information begins with Carl (Charles) Ruch born in 1856 in Alsace Lorraine, France and Salomea J. Siegler born in 1851 in Alsace Lorraine. Charles and Salomea were married at sea as they traveled to America. (Salomea's father, Fredrick, was also on the ship.)
They settled in Erie, PA where several of their nine children (including three sets of twins) were born. The family later moved to Chicago, IL. Their children are:

Charles b. 07/26/1886 d. 1970
Salomea (Siegler) briefly remarried after Charles' death to Henry Weidermann. They had one son,
Henry.
