Hello, My name is Ed Harvey the Internet has given me many other names such as nightowl1800, oziepike, bighoss19 that having been said lets get onto the nut & bolts of this site. I have been involved with the fire service since 1983 as an Explorer then in 1987 I was officially voted into membership in the local fire company. To see some of the special training that I have taken check out my resume page.

More recently I have become quite fire buff, with interests in Fire Apparatus Photography & History. Please enjoy my site

Quick FAQ:
What Camera? Sony DSC Cybershot F-707 5 mega pixels & one tough camera.

Where I go to shoot photos? Parades, Drills, Events, Fires and Crashes.

How do you find out about fires ect? Listening to my scanners a Realistic Pro 2020 & a Uniden BC-785D.
I also page for and get pages about incidents for The Incident Page Network.

Why and how do you do this weirdo stuff? - I take these photos as a hobby and from time to time I submit
them to fire service trade publications and fire buffing websites. My goal is to show the fire service in the most positive light possible.
All the while providing photographic documentation of the fire service as it stands into the 21st century.

My fire fighting career officially started in 1987, but here is evidence of my involvement in the fire service as early 1972.

This is a stuffed Smokey the Bear that my father gave me when I was about 2 years old.
