As a prominent Manchurian Pheasant producer in the country, we are able to meet your quantity needs. However, our goals and the priority at Rocky Mountain Hatchery focus on quality, by supplying our customers with healthy, hardy and "wild" pheasant stock. We selectively choose our breeding stock yearly for the highest quality characteristics required and most desired by you.

Our Manchurian Ringneck Pheasants, are bred for flight, weighing 3 to 3.5 lbs. at maturity, with strong, long tails.

We also breed for color, with mature birds displaying beautiful feather patterns, wide ringed necks and white striped heads.

The Manchurian has a noticeably “high strung” temperament, a desirable quality for a strong release bird.

Rocky Mountain Hatchery’s production program, we have noted several industry techniques practiced to stimulate egg production in pheasants must be modified greatly to achieve success when lighting the Manchurian Pheasant . The differences cover a wide spectrum, including but not limited to; specialized custom feed formulas, lighting length and intensity, space requirements etc.

Where others have reportedly failed in their lighting attempts of Manchurian stock, we have succeeded in devising a lighting and laying plan that serves our Manchurian stock well. Outdoor hens, begin laying in March and produce an average of 55 to 65 eggs per laying cycle. Indoor hens, housed in environmentally controlled barns, produce a much higher average per laying cycle. By rotating flocks, this allows us to have hens in year round production, along with a wide scope to availability of hatching eggs and chicks that other hatcheries may not be able to offer with the Manchurian strain of pheasants.

Of the approximately 32 strains of ringneck pheasant, Rocky Mountain Hatchery specializes only in the Manchurian strain, and we are committed to raising a Manchurian pheasant that is true to form. We supply hatching eggs, day old chicks and raise release stock for propagation programs throughout the country. Our exclusive raising techniques paired with our stock, and our customers' conducive habitat, has established a sound history of surviving birds in the wild along with an impressive production rate in young that follows.

We do not raise other varieties of ringnecks, as we believe the genetic characteristics of our Manchurian stock depends on remaining focused to one area of production.

We are NPIP participants striving for the healthiest bird possible. We practice an established combination of breeding, sanitation, and bio-security management policies designed for maintaining breeder and started flocks free of specific known infectious diseases. Our breeding flocks are tested yearly according to NPIP regulations under the supervision of a certified veterinarian.
