This book serves as a very basic and sparse introduction to the techniques of sport Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. There are about 20 moves described in 84 pages. For your $30 you get 4 warm-ups, 2 escapes, 4 basic chokes, 3 armlocks, 3 sweeps, 1 passing the guard and 3 immobilizations. Not much context is given for the moves. You really are give no guidance as to how all this fits together. Moreover, the photos are of poor quality and the text describing the moves is Spartan at best. I can live with one or the other, but not both.
This book does no hold a candle to the Fighter Notebook. Moreover, I couldn't even recommend this book as a supplement to those that own the Carlson Gracie Jr. Belt Ranking tapes. This tape set is a quality tape set. This book adds nothing to the equation. For the most part, this book is a piece of junk. The only reason I bought it was to do a review. The book is more of a novelty and collectors item than an instructional book.
