In Memory of Andria Michelle Danford
They call me Shelly~
Born ~July 8, 1979,
Went to be with Jesus~ Nov. 21, 1999.
Shelly leaves behind~
Her Dad-Ricky Danford, her Step-mom-Donna Danford, her Mom-Devy Hatcher, sisters--Megan and Dana, her brother Shane, and a host of other friends, and relatives.~
How did she die??
Two young men came from another state for a visit. Shelly and a friend took the young men to the mall early that day for some shopping. After the mall, they all went back to a friends house, to watch a football game and mess around on the computer, at which time one young man started playing with a gun. Shelly got angry about the gun and left. Later that night Shelly and her friend went back to pick up the young men to take them to a local club for teens. Shelly told the young man he couldnt get in her car with a gun at which time he went to his truck and put it under the seat and locked his truck back or so they all thought. While stuck in a traffic jam this young man pulled the gun out and Shelly saw him in her rear view mirror and began to argue with him about having it. A car pulled out in front of them and he started yelling at them but they never returned any comments and shelly told him to be quiet. The gun went off striking her in the back of the head.
The two boys jumped and ran from the car and the other girl went for help from two police officers directing traffic about 100 feet away. One took off after the boys and the other tried to help shelly. The boys were caught and arrested. The shooter is being charged with manslaughter and the other was released. Life support kept her body functioning for 5 hours. After talking to the doctors and finding out that everything in her head was destroyed we had life support turned off and she died 13 minutes later. Shelly was an organ donor but the only things they could use was her heart valves, tissue and bones. Everything else has been shut down too long to save.
She was a member of Midway Babtist Church and she was a good christian girl. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace. I could write a novel on what was so special about Shelly.
"Update on Shelly"
The yourng man that shot and killed Shelly was indicted on manslaughter charges. We finally got our day in court but the jury reduced the charges and charged him with criminal negligent homicide, which is a misdemeanor. He only got one year in the county jail. The day will come when he stands before the Judgement Seat of Christ. He will not escape God!
She never met a stranger. She had so many friends. The night of visitation their were over 1000 people there and again at the funeral. The funeral director said he had never seen one so big.Here is a poem that was passed out at the visitation.
Singing Through Sorrow
Another senseless shooting,
Another life is lost,
The burden of surviving,
Exacts a heavy cost,
She's gone to meet her sister,
In just a few short years,
Though angels sing to greet her,
They have to hide their tears,
We don't know all the answers,
But trust our Lord above,
His holy spirit helps us,
To know the savior's love,
Shelly's up there waiting,
You see she's won her race,
With patience we can join her,
And see her smiling face.
Shelly and her step-sister Clair~
Shelly had a step-sister that was killed 3 yrs ago in a car accident. She was only 13. They were very close and Shelly missed her alot.

The most important thing everyone can remember about Shelly is that she was never mad or sad. She was always a happy person. In hundreds and hundreds of pictures she was always smiling even if the others in the photo was not. And she always had a twinkle in her eyes. She would light up a room as soon as she walked into it. She was a fun person to be around. Everyone she came in contact with loved her. Someone you could never forget even if you only met her once. This is a poem her dad wrote to her 2 weeks after she was gone.
We'll Always Miss You
Another speeding bullet,
Halting such a deserving kind,
With a flash you were gone,
Your memory etched in our mind
As God sent for you so suddenly,
We never had a chance to say a proper good-bye.
We know he had his reasons,
Although we will never know why,
Your smile was like the heavens,
Your eyes as blue as the sky,
Now the Angels are rejoicing,
As we stand by your grave and cr,y
You were so young and free,
So many things still to do,
Our minds say its meant to be,
But our hearts go on beating for you,
Shelly, We'll always miss you,
The sparkle in your eye,

A Message From Shelly
I'm sorry I had to leave you, Without so much as a good-bye, It's better this way though, Cause it hurts so much to see you cry, I didn't want to go away, So unexpectedly..... But you see.. I had no choice, For God was calling me, Though I'm not with you anymore, I'm with the Lord above, Surrounded by his perfect peace, And filled with his perfect love, Theres no more worry, And no more pain, No more clouds, And no more rain. I just want to tell you this, And I want you all to know, Don't be sad, and don't regret. It was my time to go. Loved ones lost through all my life, Were there to welcome me home, And I want you to know that even in death I was never alone...........Shelly
