The Deck
Published in the late 1960's/early 1970's by Hallmark, this charming miniature deck features Charles Schulz' "Peanuts" gang on the courts, aces, joker and back.
This deck holds a special place in my heart, as it is the first deck with non-standard courts I owned. I bought them as a kid back when they were first published, and remember hours spent playing Rummy, Crazy Eights, Klondike Solitaire and Pyramid Solitaire with them. Although those decks (along with the rest of my toys) got tossed out by my mom years ago, I was able to purchase the deck on display here at an antique store.
Note: Hallmark published this deck with a number of different, psychedelic backs. But be careful - they also published similarly-colored miniature Peanuts decks which had standard courts, aces and jokers.

The Cards on Display
- The Queen of Hearts - Lucy van Pelt, a force to be reckoned with, here sporting an uncharacteristically cheerful smile.
- The Jack of Clubs - Linus van Pelt, Lucy's long-suffering brother, with his ever-present blanket.
- The King of Diamonds - Charlie Brown, everybody's favorite underdog, with a soon-to-be-eaten-by-a-tree kite.
- The Ace of Spades - Not just your run-of-the-mill ace, but a World War I flying ace!!
- The Joker - None other than Snoopy, juggling four balls and Woodstock.
- The Card back - That "funny looking kid with the big nose", coolly letting a strike go by.
