- An Unusual Place -
The Black Hole of Los Alamos, a recycler of
"nuclear waste," has the world's most diverse stock of used
scientific equipment, electronics, lab supplies, nuclear by-products, surplus
items and manterials. We have over 17,000 square feet of pre-owned test
equipment and laboratory supplies. The Black Hole has provided materials to
over 500 Universities and Research Institutions around the world as well as
technical props for 4 major motion pictures.
Our diverse stock of technical equipment is
constantly changing. Click here for a listing of
items currently in stock.
We have a long-standing relationship with
the arts community of Northern New Mexico, supplying exotic materials for
sculptural and theatrical projects. In addition to providing props for the motion
picture industry, The Black Hole served as a photogenic site for a number of
photographers and photography classes. Click here
for an artists' tour of The Black Hole.
By virtue of its location in the community
of Los Alamos, New Mexico, historical birthplace of the first nuclear weapons,
The Black Hole has aquired status as a tourist attraction (see Frommers,
Wikitravel, The Easy Traveler, etc.)
alternative to the official museums in town. We do have some historical items
on display and welcome visitors from around the world as our guest book
attests. Some special visitors
that did not sign in (but we have the news clippings to prove they were here)
include the Secret
Service and the FBI.
We'd love to talk with you!
