B. Blake's Full Name
Christina Blake (Bauer) Thorpe Lindsey Spaulding Spaulding Marler
As a child, Blake was known as Chrissy Bauer (supposedly the daughter of Dr. Ed Bauer). It was later discovered that Chrissy was really Roger Thorpe's daughter, and eventually she left town with her mother, Holly. When Chrissy returned to Springfield, she was Blake Lindsey, a successful PR consultant working for Spaulding Enterprises. She used Blake, her middle name, because she didn't want anyone to know she was Chrissy Thorpe, daughter of the infamous Roger Thorpe. And, "Chrissy" sounded too childish for a tough, successful businesswoman. By the time it was discovered that Blake was really Chrissy, everyone was already calling her Blake. Roger, however, cannot bear the thought that his little girl is now an adult, so he still calls her by her childhood name.
Blake's Paternity
When Blake was conceived, her mother, Holly Norris, was married to Dr. Ed Bauer. Ed, however, was not Blake's biological father. In fact, Ed and Holly were having marital problems and were not even sleeping in the same bed. But, in spite of all this, Ed thought Holly's baby was his. In reality, Holly had had an affair with Roger Thorpe, who was the real father of the baby. Ed found out that Blake was not his, when, as a child, Blake got sick and needed a blood transfusion. Because of a childhood disease, Holly could not donate blood, so it was up to Blake's father to do so. Ed's blood did not match Blake's, so Roger secretly donated blood to save his daughter. Holly's disloyalty to Ed broke up their marriage, but Ed continues to be a father figure to Blake to this day.
