Jack is the founder of the group. He plays guitar and favors the traditional style, singing lead and baritone. Jack grew up in southern Missouri, listening to the Grand Old Opry and loving the old-time music. After some time in the military, he met Mae and shared his love of the music with her---also his desire to own a guitar. After their marriage, his present under the tree was a Gibson guitar. A friend, Jock Hogue, gave him his first lesson and he was playing. He is now retired from a career in the electronics field. Jack and Mae have 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. At the age of 4, their grand-daughter, August, came to live with them. After years of lessons, she began to play with the group. She now has her own music career in Chattanooga, Tennessee. (check out August's bio page).
