Mae plays the upright bass, and  sings lead and various

 harmony parts. Raised in a small town in southern

 Missouri, she sang in every venue she could find, in

 grade school, high school and church. After high school,

 she sang in a gospel quartet until she and Jack were

 married.  They formed the Bluegrass Brigade in 1974,

 and have been having a  wonderful time playing and

 singing, not only in this country but in Europe as well.

 Mae takes care of  many details for the group, including

 managing our finances, organizing our events calendar,

 handling correspondence & mail orders for recordings,

 and selecting the stage "outfits" to wear. She plays some

 piano and guitar, but concentrates on the upright bass in

 the Bluegrass Brigade.
