About these playaid item samples

Due to the nature of resizing bit-mapped images to fit onto a web page, the samples presented here are not what I would consider "quality" images. They are only presented to give you an idea of what the various kit items are and how they would be used.

For high quality samples of playaid items, head over to my Download page where I have available a variety of playaid kit items in PDF file format.

Deployment / Set-Up Displays

This is a sample of the typical layout of a deployment display. To speed up the set-up of the game, all you have to do is match the counter to the image on the display. You'll have to watch for any special unit identification (eg. the unit's divisional affiliation in OCS games). I know from personal experience that these type of charts greatly reduce the set -up time of a game and reduce the number of deployment mistakes.

This example is from the playaid kit for Red Parachutes (from Avalanche Press) and details all the German units needed for scenario #2.

CRT / Rule Summary Sheets

This is a sample of the typical layout of a CRT / Rule Summary sheet; in this case it is the front of the summary sheet for Scorched Earth. All summary sheets are doubled-sided to have as much information available for the players. For example, a complete listing of the CRTs and rule summaries present on this sheet is as follows:

Corps Displays

This is a sample of a Corps (or Army) Display; in this case it is one of the three German Corps Displays which come in the Scorched Earth playaid kit. Each corp's holding area is sized to accomodate (without a lot of unused space) 3 counters across and 3 counters vertically.
