Rumor has it that Monty Burns is modelled after Prof. Emeritus Joseph
Siverman, a Nuclear Engineering Faculty member at the University of
Maryland at College Park. He is the the father of David Silverman who
was one of the original animators for the Simpsons on the Tracy Ulman
Show.
Background
Mr. Burns is Homer Simpson's boss at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. He is an evil, power-hungry man who will stop at nothing to aquire more. Some of his stints even included running for governor and obtaining a complete monopoly over the power in Springfield (the latter of which led to his being shot). His trusty sidekick Smithers is always at his beck and call and is always excited to pamper Mr. Burns.
Mr. Burns is Brother to famed comedian George and illegitimate father to a man who sounds a lot like Rodney Dangerfield.
After a bout with hypohemia (his life saved by one Bart Simpson's blood donation), he wrote a book entitled, "Will There Ever Ba a Rainbow?"

Monty Burns has an extensive wardrobe of animal skins including:

Every Friday evening, after work, Monty undergoes a series of treatments to prolong his life. This procedure consists of:
- Spinal adjustment
- Eyedrops
- Painkillers
- Vocal Cord Scraping
This process leaves him disoriented and with a cheery disposition. This combined with his "healthy green glow," due to his lifetime of work at the power plant, has caused him to be mistaken for an alien on numerous occasions.
